Deviations in the diversity and composition of gut microbiota are called "gut dysbiosis". They have been linked to various chronic diseases including cancers resistance immunotherapy. Stool shotgun based-metagenomics informs on ecological prevalence homeostatic bacteria such as Akkermansia muciniphila (Akk), while determination serum addressin MAdCAM-1 instructs endothelial barrier dysfunction. Here we examined patient survival during chemo-immuno-therapy 955 cancer patients across four independent cohorts non-small cell lung (NSCLC), genitourinary (GU) colorectal (CRC) cancers, according hallmarks dysbiosis. We show that Akk represents a stable favorable phenotype NSCLC CRC patients. Over-dominance above healthy threshold was observed dismal prognosis GU mirrored an immunosuppressive ecosystem excessive intestinal epithelial exfoliation NSCLC. In CRC, combination lack low sMAdCAM-1 levels identified subset comprising 28% with reduced survival, immunoscore. conclude dysbiosis deserve integration within diagnosis toolbox oncological practice.

Background Colorectal polyps are the most common precursors of colorectal cancer (CRC). The close relationship has been observed between and gut microbiota. However, microbiota signatures among sampling sites in patients with healthy adults remain elusive. Aims To learn about tissues polyp normal mucosa, faeces. Methods We performed 16S rRNA gene sequencing bioinformatic analysis for faeces (n = 24) mucosa 16) this preliminary trial. Results Ace Chao indexes were higher compared to faecal samples ( P < 0.05). composition based on PCoA ANOSIM showed significant differences only Based LEfSe analysis, abundances Bacteroides , Prevotella-2 Agathobacter higher, whereas Haemophilus, Escherichia_Shigella Fusobacterium Streptococcus lower both individuals, those two groups or tissues. In abundance was significantly than Moreover, there no difference polyps, but it Remarkably, individuals group. Conclusions microbial structure differs from that mucusa. Additionally, may be a colonizer colonic an abnormal increase detected related injury mucosa. mucosal should carefully considered studies lesions.

Using black soldier fly larvae (BSFLs) to treat food waste is one of the most promising environmental protection technologies. We used high-throughput sequencing study effects different nutritional compositions on intestinal microbiota and digestive enzymes BSF. Compared with standard feed (CK), high-protein (CAS), high-fat (OIL) high-starch (STA) had BSF microbiota. CAS significantly reduced bacterial fungal diversity in tract. At genus level, CAS, OIL STA decreased Enterococcus abundance compared CK, increased Lysinibacillus abundance, Klebsiella, Acinetobacter Bacillus abundances. Diutina, Issatchenkia Candida were dominant genera BSFL gut. The relative Diutina group was highest, that increased, while Issatchenkia. enzyme activities differed among four groups. α-amylase, pepsin lipase CK those lowest or second lowest. Correlation analysis factors showed a significant correlation between composition activity, especially α-amylase which highly correlated bacteria fungi high Moreover, mortality rate In summary, affected community structure tract, ultimately larval mortality. oil diet gave best results terms growth, survival diversity, although not highest.
