However, searching for health-related internet frequently increases possibility individuals being troubled by that they find, and consequently, experiencing symptoms cyberchondria. We aimed to examine relationships between people's perceived severity their depression, anxiety, explore role cyberchondria, which, these relationship mechanisms, is closely related using addition, we also examined moderating experiences. In February 2020, a total 486 participants were recruited through web-based platform areas China large number infections. We used questionnaires measure participants' symptoms, assess experiences. Confirmatory factor analysis, exploratory common method bias, descriptive statistical correlation analysis performed, moderated mediation models examined. There was positive association depression (β=0.36, t=8.51, P<.001), anxiety (β=0.41, t=9.84, (β=0.46, t=11.45, which mediated cyberchondria t=8.59, P<.001). direct effects (β=0.07, t=2.01, P=.045) (β=0.09, t=2.75, P=.006) indirect (β=0.10, t=2.59, P=.009) t=2.50, P=.01) experience. The higher more serious individuals' stress. associations partially cyberchondria. Individuals likely develop aggravated symptoms. Negative experiences exacerbated pandemic's impact mental health.

Despite a growing literature about the mental health effects of COVID-19, less is known psychological costs providing informal care during pandemic. We examined longitudinal data from UK's Understanding Society Survey, including eight COVID surveys, to estimate fixed difference-in-differences models combined with matching, explore causal COVID-19 among carers. While matching accounts for selection on observables into caregiving, multiple period specifications allow investigation heterogeneous by timing and duration care. The estimates suggest that while fluctuated following imposition social restrictions, carers who started caregiving pandemic show largest deterioration, especially lockdowns. Policies mitigate burden might be more effective if targeted at those starting provide first time.
