Background: Flavonoids are recognized for their extensive health benefits, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and neuroprotective effects. Traditional methods flavonoid extraction, often dependent on toxic solvents high energy inputs, have prompted the exploration of more sustainable efficient extraction techniques. This movement aligns with global shift towards greener methodologies that promise to enhance purity yield these vital phytochemicals therapeutic purposes. Objective: In this hypothesis-driven study, we aimed evaluate effectiveness advanced green technologies—microwave-assisted (MAE), supercritical fluid (SFE), ultrasound-assisted (UAE)—for isolating flavonoids from botanical sources. A secondary objective was assess antioxidant capabilities extracted flavonoids, thereby linking efficiency process bioactivity compounds. Methods: The study utilized MAE, SFE, UAE extract a predetermined plant source, optimizing parameters each method maximize activity. quantitatively measured in mg per gram dry material, while capacity evaluated using DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) assay, focusing percentage radical scavenging Results: Our findings indicated MAE most method, producing 120 mg/g an 85% SFE followed, yields 100 90 mg/g, capacities 80% 75% activity, respectively. These results not only supported our hypothesis techniques could outperform traditional extracting but also highlighted as superior technique terms both efficacy. Conclusion: validates potential technologies, particularly microwave-assisted effective alternatives conventional methods. By extracts, technologies pave way significant advancements pharmaceutical nutraceutical industries, fostering deeper understanding utilization wellness.

Antimicrobial resistance is a growing global concern, prompting for antibiotic alternatives in animal production. Seaweed, abundant bioactive compounds with anti-inflammatory properties, offers natural substitute to synthetic compounds. Considering this, the objective of present study was evaluate bioactivity three seaweeds 1:1 combination Ascophyllum nodosum, Palmaria palmata, and Ulva lactuca. Initially, polyphenol, flavonoid, total phlorotannin content seaweed species were assessed through colorimetric assays. Subsequently, first evaluated an inhibition protein precipitation assay then confirmed vitro gene expression assays LPS-stimulated porcine alveolar macrophages (PAMs). The evaluation molecules revealed high TPC (1487.67±40.39 1763.57±69.01mg TAE/100mg sample, respectively), as well TFC (95.68±3.62 126.09±7.34mg CE/100mg sample) TPhC (0.167±0.02 0.23±0.01mg PGE/100mg) AN UL, respectively. inhibiting disclosed that extracts combining two algae (ANUL, ANPP, PPUL) more effective than effect exhibited by each single extract. assessment significant down-regulation IL-1β TNF-α extracts. In contrast, TGF-β showed increasing trend. These findings, along confirmation molecules, highlight algae's potential, making them suitable antibiotics disease prevention livestock sector. Therefore, future research should explore specific validate their efficacy vivo confirm potential use

Few researches have explored the production of pharmaceuticals from aquatic plants. Therefore, this study explored, for first time, phytochemical composition and bioactivities ten Aquatic plant shoots various Nile River canals were collected, dried, ground aqueous extract preparation. Phytochemical antioxidant capacity assessed using DPPH assays. Extracts tested antiparasitic, antibacterial, anti-biofilm, anticancer activities through standard in vitro assays, measuring IC50 values, evaluating mechanisms action, including cell viability high-content screening The results showed that plants rich pharmaceutical compounds. these extracts exceeded vitamin C. promising antiparasitic activity against pathogens like Opisthorchis viverrini Plasmodium falciparum, with values between 0.7 2.5 µg/mL. They also demonstrated low MICs pathogenic bacteria, causing DNA damage, increased plasma membrane permeability, 90% biofilm inhibition. In terms activity, effective a panel cancer lines, Ludwigia stolonifera exhibiting highest efficacy. Its ranged 0.5 µg/mL pancreatic, esophageal, colon cells to 1.5 gastric cells. Overall, all below 6 µg/mL, showing significant apoptotic nuclear intensity, mitochondrial cytochrome c release, outperforming doxorubicin. This highlights potential as sources new, safe, drugs strong properties.

Pyropia spp. seaweeds are delicious and nutritious red algae widely consumed for a long history. However, due to the non-digestibility of cell wall components by human intestinal tract, bioaccessibility intracellular bioactive compounds is low. The current industrial processing food drying roasting cannot break down wall; however, studies indicate that fermentation food-derived microorganisms an efficient method solve this problem. This paper reviews research on spp., including manufacturing process, alterations in chemical composition, flavor properties, bioactivities, mechanisms. Furthermore, limitations opportunities developing explored. Studies demonstrated key metabolites fermented were degraded polysaccharides, released phenolic flavonoids, formed amino acids, which possessed bioactivities such as antioxidant, anti-glycation, anti-diabetic, lipid metabolism regulation beneficial health. increased implied promoted components. Notably, positively contributed safety food. In conclusion, benefits nutrition, flavor, bioactivity, suggest technology has promising future application industry.
