This meta-analysis and systematic review aimed to evaluate the global prevalence risk factors of mental problems (i.e., depression, anxiety, stress, sleep disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), burnout, psychological distress, suicidal ideation) among medical students during COVID-19 pandemic. We searched PubMed, Embase, Web Science, psycARTICLES, PsycINFO, CNKI, Wan Fang for studies on from January 1, 2020, April 2022. Abstract: This narrative state-of-the-art review paper describes the progress in understanding and treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Over last four decades, scientific landscape has matured, with many interdisciplinary contributions to its diagnosis, etiology, epidemiology. Advances genetics, neurobiology, stress pathophysiology, brain imaging have made it apparent that chronic PTSD is a systemic disorder high allostatic load. The current state includes wide variety pharmacological psychotherapeutic approaches, which are evidence-based. However, myriad challenges inherent disorder, such as individual barriers good outcome, comorbidity, emotional dysregulation, suicidality, dissociation, substance use, trauma-related guilt shame, often render response suboptimal. These discussed drivers for emerging novel including early interventions Golden Hours, interventions, medication augmentation use psychedelics, well targeting nervous system. All this aims improve symptom relief clinical outcomes. Finally, phase orientation recognized tool strategize position step progression pathophysiology. Revisions guidelines systems care will be needed incorporate innovative treatments evidence emerges they become mainstream. generation well-positioned address devastating disabling impact traumatic events through holistic, cutting-edge efforts research.

Background There remains uncertainty about the impact of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on mental health. This umbrella review provides a comprehensive overview association between and common disorders. Method: method entailed systematic review random-effects meta-analysis quantitative studies. Results: Seventy-three included meta-analysis. pooled correlations effect size association 0.49, 0.40, 0.38, respectively. corresponding figures for 0.29, 0.19, 0.18, Subgroup analyses revealed some could be influenced by sociodemographic characteristics study samples, such as age, gender, region, stringency index, methodological moderators, sample size, collection date, quality, measurement scales. Conclusions: Social had weak while was moderate. Strategies address highly effective reducing impact on relationships health.
