To examine the cultural limitations and implications in applicability of Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 8-items (DASS-8)-a shortened version DASS-21 recently introduced an Arab sample-this study evaluated its psychometric properties, including measurement invariance, among healthy subjects from United States, Australia, Ghana. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed good fit DASS-8 relative to a 12-item (DASS-12). Both DASS-12 were invariant at all levels across genders, employment status, students vs. non-students. The DASS-8/DASS-12 also expressed invariance configural metric countries, albeit scalar was not maintained due misspecification loadings Ghanian sample. Mann-Whitney U test significantly lower mental symptomatology on DASS measures than English-speaking respondents (both non-students). excellent internal consistency (coefficient alpha = 0.89), convergent validity-noted by high values item-total correlations (

Despite extensive investigations of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales-21 (DASS-21) since its development in 1995, factor structure and other psychometric properties still need to be firmly established, with several calls for revising item structure. This paper presents profile NESDA. NESDA sample recruited initially 2329 persons with remitted or current DSM-IV based (major disorder, dysthymia) and/or disorder (panic social phobia, agoraphobia, generalized disorder), 367 their siblings 652 healthy controls, yielding total 3348 participants. Half-day face-to-face assessments participants started in 2004 since then have been repeated six times over period 9 years. A 13-year follow-up assessment ongoing, at what time we also recruit offspring Retention rates are generally high, ranging from 87.1% (after 2 years) 69.4% years). Psychiatric diagnostic interviews administered all assessments, as was monitoring clinical characteristics, psychosocial functioning somatic health. Assessed etiological factors include e.g. early environmental risk factors, psychological vulnerability resilience well (neuro)biology through hypothesis-driven biomarker genome-wide large-scale '-omics' neuroimaging assessments. naturalistic design allows research into affective disorders but limited treatment response interpretation. provides strong infrastructure for Its data used many scientific papers describing either NESDA-based analyses joint collaborative consortia-projects, principle available researchers outside consortium.

Abstract Background The two most prevalent mental health conditions are anxiety and depression they often coexist (comorbidity) in an individual aggravating the person’s psychological or medical conditions. College students suffered from depressive symptoms during COVID-19 pandemic, according to numerous studies. lack of information on comorbidity (CAD) among international students, however, makes it difficult develop effective policies strategies support these students. Objective present research seeks investigate incidence CAD China identify variables that may be useful predicting CAD. Method A cross-sectional study was conducted at Medical University Shenyang, China, for November 2020. total 519 provided their demographics, stress related generalized disorder assessment (GAD-7), patient questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), simplified coping style questionnaire (SCSQ), perceived scale (PSS-10), multidimensional social (MSPSS), revised life orientation test (LOT-R), resilience scale-14 (RS-14). To potential predictors CAD, a chi-square test, nonparametric multinomial logistic regression analyses were carried out as appropriate. Results anxiety, depression, current 5.8%, 8.9%, 22.7%, respectively. having observed negative (β = 0.662, OR 1.938, CI:1.07–3.694) 0.167, 1.181, CI:1.076–1.297); pandemic-related 0.323,OR 1.382,CI:1.211–1.577), 0.693,OR 2.000, CI:1.21–3.568), 0.135,OR 1.145,CI:1.050–1.248); whereas with staying up late (Yes VS No) 1.028,OR 2.794,CI:1.227–6.364), place residence (Other continents China) -1.413, 0.243,CI:0.065–0.910), 0.371,OR 1.450,CI:1.284–1.636), 1.092,OR 2.979,CI:1.706–5.203), 0.339,OR 1.403,CI:1.289–1.527). In this article we synthesize evaluate fifteen years NESDA research on prominent psychological risk factors for onset, persistence, recurrence, comorbidity affective disorders.A narrative review 62 articles specificity predictive value neuroticism, behavioral inhibition, repetitive negative thinking, experiential avoidance, cognitive reactivity, locus control, (implicit) self-esteem, disorder-specific self-associations, attentional bias course disorders. All self-reported showed cross-sectional relationships with singular comorbid disorders, prospective development chronicity anxiety disorders. High low thinking most transdiagnostic relationships, whereas reactivity pronounced depression-specific associations. Implicit self-esteem validity persistence recurrence over above factors. Automatic approach-avoidance behavior negative, positive, or threat words no relationship disorders.NESDA identified both (a) (e.g., implicit thinking) that may help explain between disorders overlap in symptoms, (b) indications responsivity) which support relevance distinct disorder categories mechanisms. In longitudinal research, switching between diagnoses should be considered when examining patients with depression and anxiety. We investigated course trajectories of affective disorders over a nine-year period, comparing categorical approach using to dimensional symptom severity. Abstract Background Drugs prescribed for psychiatric disorders in adolescence should be studied very extensively since they can affect developing and thus highly plastic brain differently than the adult brain. Therefore, we aimed to summarize animal studies reporting behavioral consequences of chronic exposure most widely antidepressant drug among adolescents i.e., fluoxetine. Methods Electronic databases (Medline via Pubmed, Web Science Core Collection, ScienceDirect) were systematically searched until April 12, 2022, published, peer-reviewed, controlled trials concerning effects fluoxetine administration vs. vehicle on anxiety depression measures naïve stress-exposed adolescent rodents. All relevant selected critically appraised, a meta-analysis eligible was performed. Results A total 18 included meta-analysis. In animals, showed dose-related anxiogenic-like effects, measured as reduction time spent open arms elevated plus maze. No significant depression-like behavior reported while rodents significantly decreased immobility forced swim test compared vehicle. Conclusions These results suggest that although treatment proves positive models depression, it may simultaneously increase animals manner. Although clinical implications data interpreted with extreme caution, patients under closely monitored.
