Inflammatory

intestinal
diseases,
the
cause
which
has
not
yet
been
clarified,
but
it
widely
believed
that
disorder
microenvironment
and
its
related
functional
changes
are
key
factors
in
development
disease.
Houttuynia
cordata
thunb.
traditional
plant
with
abundant
resources
long
history
utilization
China,
attracted
widespread
attention
recent
years
due
to
potential
treatment
IBD.
However,
limited
owing
aristolochic
acid
alkaloids
contained
it.
Therefore,
based
on
relationship
between
IBD,
this
article
summarizes
mechanisms
by
main
active
ingredients
thunb.,
such
as
volatile
oils,
polysaccharides,
flavonoids,
Chinese
medicine
preparations,
Xiezhuo
Jiedu
Formula,
alleviate
IBD
regulating
microenvironment.
At
same
time,
combined
current
reports,
medicinal
edible
safety
explained
for
providing
ideas
further
research
chordate
disease,
more
options
patients,
insights
into
therapeutic
plants
