Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a serious health problem associated with an increase in risk factors for hepatic steatosis, which the most common liver disease today. The goal of this study was to investigate protective effects resveratrol against metabolic alterations high-fat high-fructose diet (HFFD). Thirty-two male rats were randomly divided into four equal groups: control (cont.), (MS), (Res), and treated (MS + Res). Resveratrol administrated orally at dose 30 mg/kg·bw, daily. After 10 weeks, body weight, serum biochemical parameters, oxidative stress, inflammatory markers, as well mRNA levels genes related lipid metabolism insulin signaling measured. In addition, examined histopathologically detect deposition. Increased dysfunction, dyslipidemia, resistance, stress conditions, upregulation expression level sterol regulatory element binding protein 1-c (SREBP1-c), downregulation peroxisome proliferated activated receptor alpha (PPARα) substrate-2 (IR-S2) all observed MS rats. Hepatic steatosis confirmed by hematoxylin eosin Oil Red O staining. Administration reduced state. Also, it improved profile sensitivity reverted tested genes. Based on these findings, could be proposed therapeutic approach prevention.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is an aggressive, often fatal astrocyte-derived tumor of the central nervous system. Conventional medical and surgical interventions have greatly improved survival rates; however, heterogeneity, invasiveness, chemotherapeutic resistance continue to pose clinical challenges. As such, dietary natural substances—an integral component lifestyle medicine approach chronic diseases—are examined as potential agents. These heterogenous substances exert anti-GBM effects by upregulating apoptosis autophagy, inducing cell cycle arrest, interfering with metabolism, inhibiting proliferation, neuroinflammation, chemoresistance, angiogenesis, metastasis. Although these beneficial are promising, substances’ efficacy in GBM constrained their bioavailability blood–brain barrier permeability; various chemical formulations proposed improve pharmacological properties. Many reviewed available over-the-counter supplements, underscoring viability interventions. However, trials remain necessary substantiate vitro vivo properties substances.

Scope Poly‐pharmacological therapy shapes the gut microbiota (GM) in metabolic syndrome (MetS) patients. The effects of polyphenols poly‐medicated MetS patients are unknown. Methods and results A randomized, placebo‐controlled, double‐blinded, crossover trial ( n =50) explored whether a pomegranate extract nutraceutical (PE, 320 mg phenolics/day for 1 month) affected by drug therapy. Considering lipid‐lowering (LL‐), anti‐hypertensive (HP‐) and(or) anti‐diabetic (AD‐) treatments: GM (16S rRNA sequencing), short‐chain fatty acids, 40 inflammatory‐metabolic endotoxemia‐related biomarkers, associations between biomarkers with 53 cardiometabolic dysfunctions‐related single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), urolithin metabotypes (UMs) influence evaluated. Representative SNPs‐GM after PE include Lactococcus ClostridiumXIVa rs5443‐ GNB3 (G‐protein‐β‐polypeptide‐3) rs7903146 ‐TCF7L2 (transcription‐factor‐7‐like‐2) rs1137101‐ LEPR (leptin‐receptor). decreases sICAM‐1 LL‐patients lipopolysaccharide‐binding protein all does not affect other patients’ markers as group or stratifying UMs. After PE, increases AD‐, LL‐, HP‐patients, Bifidobacterium LL‐ while Clostridium XIVa non‐LL‐ non‐HP‐patients. Conclusion prebiotic effect depends on medication, mainly HP‐treatments. Targeting can complement therapy, but should be considered individually.
