Purpose Anacardium occidentale commonly known as Cashew is a plant that widely used in African traditional medicine. It endowed with phytochemical constituents are responsible for its medicinal properties. Methods Twenty-five male Wistar rats were grouped follows: Control (Group A), Group B (L-NAME 40 mg/kg), C (100 mg/kg extract plus L-NAME), D (200 L-NAME) and E (10 of Lisinopril L-NAME). The animals treated oral administration either the extracts or Lisnopril daily 4 weeks. Neuro-behavioural tests such Morris Water Maze Hanging Wire Grip carried out to evaluate memory/spatial learning muscular strength, respectively. Makers oxidative stress, antioxidant enzymes immunohistochemical staining Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein Ionised Calcium Binding Adaptor molecule 1 assessed. Results L-NAME caused significant increases biomarkers decreased status, acetylcholinesterase activity, altered neuro-behavioural changes, astrocytosis, microgliosis. However, reversed exaggerated stress improved changes. Conclusions Combining all, enhanced brain defence memory thus, suggesting neuroprotective properties occidentale.

One of the pathogenetic hypotheses delirium is "neuroinflammatory theory" with consequent neurotoxicity brain connectivity networks. Micronutrients may play a significant role in prevention neuroinflammation. This systematic review addresses micronutrients development older populations. The EBSCO, Cochrane, PubMed, and Web Science databases were searched for articles on micronutrients. methodological quality studies included was evaluated Newcastle-Ottawa Scales observational case-control studies. 1326 papers identified from searches, 7 which met inclusion criteria (see section 2.3). All written English. Delirium predominantly secondary to post-operative dysfunction or acute medical conditions. By altering production neurotransmitters resulting an imbalance, by reducing their immunomodulatory increase inflammatory oxidative stress, micronutrient deficiency seems be associated increased incidence delirium. supports existence association between (i.e. cobalamin, thiamine, vitamin D) delirium, greater prevalence hospitalized patients.

Oxidative stress and neuroinflammation are crucial factors in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease (PD). Vitamin D (Vit D) canagliflozin (CAN) known to have anti-inflammatory antioxidant properties. Together, they target key molecular pathways involved PD, including oxidative neuroinflammation, specifically, small GTPase protein (RAC1)/nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB)/nuclear factor erythroid 2-related 2 (Nrf2) signaling, which regulates brain's inflammation. This study investigates effects Vit CAN alone combination a rat model PD. Fifty male Wistar rats were assigned five groups (n = 10), control, rotenone (ROT), + ROT, ROT. We assessed weight changes, brain weight, neurobehavioral functions, biochemical markers, immunohistopathology tissues. The results showed that treatment was more effective than alleviating PD symptoms, with offering best therapeutic outcome. therapy significantly improved serum D, striatal dopamine (DA) levels, status (reduced glutathione (GSH) catalase (CAT), reduced (malondialdehyde (MDA)), ameliorated inflammation (tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin 6 (IL-6), 10 (IL-10)). Additionally, modulated expression RAC1, NF-κB, Nrf2, vitamin receptors (VDR), D-binding (DBP) immunoexpression tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), α-synuclein (α-SYN). These findings suggest synergistically modulate RAC1/NF-κB/Nrf2 pathway, leading neuroprotection

ABSTRACTParkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic neurodegenerative (NDD) due to the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons (DNs) in substantia nigra (SN). PD characterized by diverse motor symptoms such as rigidity, resting tremors, and bradykinesia, non-motor cognitive dysfunction sleep disturbances. Vitamin D (VD), VD receptor (VDR), metabolites are present brain play role maintaining development, differentiation, functions DNs.
