Low-income Black and Latinx individuals are disproportionately vulnerable to chronic stress metabolic disease. Evidence suggests that these populations engage in elevated levels of comfort eating (i.e., comforting food alleviate stress), which can harm diet quality. For this reason, many interventions discourage eating. However, if does indeed buffer stress, it may be a protective health behavior, particularly healthy foods (e.g., strawberries) as effectively traditional unhealthy brownies). By choosing foods, people able simultaneously improve their nutrition reduce levels, both have the potential disparities among chronically stressed populations. The present study tested efficacy for improving psychophysiological recovery. A sample low-income (N = 129) were randomly assigned consume grapes), chips), or no after exposure laboratory stressor. Throughout, we measured participants' responses, including self-reported rumination, autonomic nervous system activation electrodermal activity (EDA), heart rate variability (HRV)) neuroendocrine responses salivary cortisol). We compared recovery trajectories by condition found significant group differences (p 0.12 stress; p 0.92 EDA; 0.22 HRV, 1.00 Participants all conditions showed decreases cortisol post-stressor (ps < 0.01), but rates decline did not differ food, brief no-food waiting period). Although null, results important because they challenge widely-held assumption help decrease stress.

Information on food objective subjective episodes (OBE SBE, respectively), as well 24 h recall obtained. Individuals general population consumed 56% calories HPF. In meals, people BN substantially fewer than BED (63% vs. 48%) RBE groups. During OBE, participants an average 70% HPF, no between-group differences. subjects those (76% 50%). conclusion, highly Brazilian population. However, there was greater impact episodes.

A greater comprehension of factors contributing to pleasure from food-related experiences could increase understanding underlying processes around different eating behaviours. We explored drivers food and whether certain consumer characteristics were associated with specific profiles. This study aimed investigate (1) how Danish consumers vary in terms primary pleasure, (2) differences are related sociodemographic, lifestyle, health behavioural personality traits. Three-hundred fifty-five respondents (mean age 33.3 years) rated the importance along behaviour variables. Segmentation analysis was performed based on emerging dimensions, profiling segments conducted by multivariate regression calculations odds ratios. The results demonstrated that five be defined, 'Sensory-pleasure Seekers' (50%), 'Internal-pleasure (34%), 'Contextual-pleasure (17%), 'Exploratory-pleasure seekers' (13%) 'Confirming-pleasure (5%), each characteristics. Importantly, this research indicates a link between mental health, personality, perceived is evident. These insights contribute complex nature choices accommodating public issues.
