ABSTRACTChild abuse, neglect, and maltreatment (CANM) represents a significant public health threat. The study's goal was to identify factors contributing CANM its high recurrence. We utilized 2019–2020 National Child Abuse data test structural equation model of Child/Caregiver Disability variables; Home Instability hypothesized six-factor with as mediator. Of 1,221,176 victims, 29.9% had prior victimization. A four-factor, mediational showed strong fit (GFI = 0.946, NFI 0.919) superior alternative models. study provides framework for community leaders reduce CANM. Abstract The aftermath of traumatization lives on in the neural and epigenetic traces creating a momentum affliction psychological social realm. Can psychotherapy reorganise these memories through changes DNA methylation signatures? Using randomised controlled parallel group design, we examined methylome-wide saliva samples 84 female former child soldiers from Eastern DR Congo before six months after Narrative Exposure Therapy. Treatment predicted differentially methylated positions (DMPs) related to ALCAM , RIPOR2 AFAP1 MOCOS . In addition, treatment associations overlapped at gene level with baseline clinical outcomes. DMPs are involved memory formation—the key agent trauma focused treatments—and enriched for molecular pathways commonly affected by disorders. Results were partially replicated an independent sample 53 Northern Uganda. Our results suggest impact women war-related childhood trauma. Trial registration : Addressing Heightened Levels Aggression Traumatized Offenders With Psychotherapeutic Means (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT02992561, 14/12/2016).

Current views of psychological therapies for trauma typically assume the traumatic event to be in past. Yet, individuals who live contexts ongoing organized violence or experience intimate partner (IPV) may continue (re)exposed related events have realistic fears their recurrence. This systematic review considers effectiveness, feasibility, and adaptations interventions living with threat. PsychINFO, MEDLINE, EMBASE were searched articles that examined threat either IPV used trauma-related outcome measures. The search was conducted according Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses guidelines. Data on study population, setting design, intervention components, evaluation methods, outcomes extracted, quality assessed using Mixed-Method Appraisal Tool. Eighteen papers featuring 15 trials included (12 3 IPV). For violence, most studies showed moderate large effects reducing symptoms when compared waitlists. IPV, findings varied. Most made culture found providing feasible. findings, albeit preliminary mixed methodological quality, treatments can beneficial should not withheld context IPV. Clinical research recommendations are discussed.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a psychiatric that causes debilitating functional impairment in patients. Observations from survivors of traumatic historical events solidify this disease not only associated with personal experiences but can also be inherited familial traumas. Over the past decades, researchers have focused on epigenetic inheritance to understand how responses adverse passed down future generations. This review aims present recent findings markers related PTSD and research intergenerational trauma. By understanding information, we hope act as biochemical measurements for clinical practice.

Epigenetic research in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is essential, given that environmental stressors and fear play such a crucial role its development. As such, it may provide framework for understanding individual differences the prevalence of treatment response. This paper reviews epigenetic markers associated with PTSD treatment, including candidate genes epigenome-wide studies. Because etiopathogenesis rests heavily on learning memory, we also draw upon animal neuroepigenetic acquisition, update erasure focusing mechanisms memory reconsolidation. Reconsolidation blockade (or impairment) has been studied clinical trials and, from neurological perspective, hold promise identifying successful therapy. We conclude this by discussing several key considerations challenges humans.

It is well known that mental illness often the result of genetic susceptibility combined with environmental factors. In this context, it useful to consider role changes in DNA expression, as epigenetic, can play development and progression psychiatric disorders. Accordingly, psychotherapy, a form pharmacological strategy targets dysfunctional emotions behaviors, may also improve symptoms via epigenetic changes. This article reviews current literature on induced by psychotherapy disorders, pointing out encouraging findings for borderline personality disorder (BPD), post-traumatic stress (PTSD), anxiety disorders obsessive–compulsive (OCD). focuses genes are more commonly associated paves way further research.

This chapter explores the relationship between Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and violent behavior. PTSD is often linked to increased risk of violence, including self-directed, interpersonal, collective violence. The examines biological, psychological, environmental factors contributing this association, highlighting neurobiological mechanisms cognitive processes involved. It also discusses challenges in assessing diagnosing PTSD-related violence reviews various treatment approaches, psychopharmacological interventions trauma-focused therapies. By providing a comprehensive overview current research clinical practices, aims enhance understanding management individuals with PTSD, emphasizing importance integrated innovative approaches.
