Background Previous observational studies have indicated a potential association between the gut microbiota and multiple myeloma (MM). However, relationship MM remains unclear. This study aimed to ascertain existence of causal link MM. Methods To investigate MM, two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was conducted. Exposure data obtained from MiBioGen consortium, which provided genetic variants associated with 211 bacterial traits. outcome FinnGen consortium. The selection Single nucleotide polymorphisms estimates performed through meta-analysis using inverse-variance weighting, sensitivity analyses were conducted weighted median, MR Egger, Simple mode, MR-PRESSO. Results results demonstrated significant positive correlation genus Eubacterium ruminantium group risk (OR 1.71, 95% CI 1.21 2.39). Conversely, genus: Dorea 0.46, 0.24 0.86), Coprococcus1 0.47, 0.22 1.00), RuminococcaceaeUCG014 0.57, 0.33 0.99), rectale 0.37, 0.18 0.77), order: Victivallales 0.62, 0.41–0.94), class: Lentisphaeria 0.41 0.94), exhibited negative inverse variance weighting additional support for these findings. Conclusion represents an inaugural exploration connections thereby suggesting significance prevention treatment

Background: The equilibrium between gut microbiota (GM) and the host plays a pivotal role in maintaining overall health, influencing various physiological metabolic functions. Emerging research suggests that exercise modulates abundance functionality of bacteria, yet comprehensive effects on GM diversity remain to be synthesized. Objectives Design: study aims quantitatively examine effect adults using systemic review meta-analysis approach. Methods: PubMed, Ebsco, Embase, Web Science, Cochrane Central Register Controlled Trials, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data were searched from their inception September 2023. Exercise intervention studies with control group describe compare composition adults, 16S rRNA gene sequencing, included this meta-analysis. Results: A total 25 1044 participants. Based fixed-effects model [Chi2 = 29.40, df 20 (p 0.08); I2 32%], pooled analysis showed compared group, can significantly increase alpha adult GM, Shannon index as an example [WMD 0.05, 95% CI (0.00, 0.09); Z 1.99 0.05)]. In addition, interventions found alter notably decreasing Bacteroidetes increasing Firmicutes, indicating shift Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio. subgroup indicates females older appear exhibit more significant changes Index observed OTUs. Major depressive disorder (MDD) and obesity are significant global health concerns with a strong bidirectional relationship. Gut microbiota dysbiosis has been implicated in both MDD obesity, characterized by alterations microbial diversity its metabolites. Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), mainly eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic (DHA) have shown promise alleviating symptoms improving metabolic health. Diet plays crucial role shaping gut microbiota, omega-3 PUFAs emerging as potential therapeutic target. By modulating reducing inflammation, influencing neurotransmitter systems, may offer novel approach to treating obesity. This article will investigate the of relationship between depression via microbiome inflammation. Abstract The brain controls the nerve system, allowing complex emotional and cognitive activities. microbiota–gut–brain axis is a bidirectional neural, hormonal, immune signaling pathway that could link gastrointestinal tract to brain. Over past few decades, gut microbiota has been demonstrated be an essential component of plays crucial role in regulating most functions various body organs. effects on occur through production neurotransmitters, hormones, metabolites, regulation host-produced or synthesis metabolites by themselves. This affects host's behavior, mood, attention state, brain's food reward system. Meanwhile, there intimate association between exercise. Exercise can change numerically qualitatively, which may partially responsible for widespread benefits regular physical activity human health. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) non-invasive method show areas enabling delineation specific regions involved neurocognitive disorders. Through combining exercise tasks fMRI techniques, researchers observe higher functions. However, exercise's health via have little studied. article reviews highlights connections these three interactions, will help us further understand positive provide new strategies approaches prevention treatment diseases.

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a common cause of dementia characterized by neurodegenerative dysregulations, cognitive impairments, and neuropsychiatric symptoms. Physical exercise (PE) has emerged as powerful tool for reducing chronic inflammation, improving overall health, preventing decline. The connection between the immune system, gut microbiota (GM), neuroinflammation highlights role gut–brain axis in maintaining brain health diseases. Neglected so far, PE beneficial effects on microbial composition diversity, thus providing potential to alleviate neurological There bidirectional communication muscle, with GM diversity modulation short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production affecting muscle metabolism preservation, activity/exercise turn inducing significant changes composition, functionality, SCFA production. This gut–muscle muscle–gut interplay can then modulate cognition. For instance, irisin, an exercise-induced myokine, promotes neuroplasticity function through BDNF signaling. Irisin muscle-generated may mediate positive physical activity against some aspects AD pathophysiology interaction ecosystem, neural plasticity, anti-inflammatory signaling pathways, neurogenesis. The interplay between influential factors and the incidence of subthreshold depression (SD) in young adults remains poorly understood. This study sought to understand dietary habits, gut microbiota composition, etc. among individuals with SD investigate their association occurrence. Employing a cross-sectional approach, 178 SD, aged 18–32 years, were matched 114 healthy counterparts. status was evaluated using Zung Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), Anxiety (SAS), Beck Inventory 2nd version (BDI-II), 17-item Hamilton Rating Scales (HAMD-17), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Metagenomic sequencing utilized identify fecal microbial profiles. Dietary patterns discerned via factor analysis 25-item food frequency questionnaire (FFQ). Logistic regression mediation performed explore potential links microbiota, patterns, incident SD. Data on habits available for 292 participants (mean [SD] age, 22.1 [2.9] years; 216 [73.9 %] female). revealed that Ⅰ (odds ratio [OR], 0.34; 95 % CI, 0.15–0.75) IV (OR, 0.39; 0.17–0.86 OR, 0.18–0.84) associated reduced risk Distinct profiles observed marked by increased diversity taxonomic alterations. Moreover, suggested Veillonella atypica as mediator linking SDS or BDI-II scores pattern rich bean products, coarse grains, nuts, fruits, mushrooms, potatoes (β = 0.25, CI: 0.02–0.78 β 0.18, 0.01–0.54). Our findings highlight complex developing adults, underscoring interventions microbiome modulation mental health promotion.
