Air pollution exposure is estimated to contribute approximately seven million early deaths every year worldwide and more than 3% of disability-adjusted life years lost. has numerous harmful effects on health contributes the development morbidity cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, a number lung pathologies, including asthma chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Emerging data indicate that air modulates epigenetic mark, DNA methylation (DNAm), these changes might in turn influence inflammation, development, exacerbation risk. Several traffic-related (TRAP) components, particulate matter (PM), black carbon (BC), ozone (O3), nitrogen oxides (NOx), polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), have been associated with DNAm; typically lowering DNAm after exposure. Effects observed across human lifespan, but it not yet clear whether developmental sensitivity or accumulation exposures most significant health. exposure-associated patterns are often correlated long-term negative respiratory outcomes, diseases, focus this review. Recently, interventions such as exercise B vitamins proposed reduce impact Ultimately, improved knowledge how exposure-induced change impacts health, both acutely chronically, may enable preventative remedial strategies polluted environments.

Abstract Uterine fibroids are benign monoclonal neoplasms of the myometrium, representing most common tumors in women worldwide. To date, no long-term or noninvasive treatment option exists for hormone-dependent uterine fibroids, due to limited knowledge about molecular mechanisms underlying initiation and development fibroids. This paper comprehensively summarizes recent research advances on focusing risk factors, origin, pathogenetic mechanisms, options. Additionally, we describe current interventions Finally, future perspectives studies summarized. Deeper mechanistic insights into tumor etiology complexity can contribute progress newer targeted therapies.

Air pollution by particulate matter (PM) is one of the main threats to human health, particularly in large cities where levels are continually exceeded. According their source emission, geography, and local meteorology, pollutant particles vary size composition. These conditioned aerodynamic diameter thus classified as coarse (2.5–10 μm), fine (0.1–2.5 ultrafine (<0.1 degree toxicity becomes greater for smaller particles. can get into lungs translocate vital organs due size, causing significant health consequences. Besides, PM pollutants have been linked respiratory conditions, genotoxic, mutagenic, carcinogenic activity beings. This paper presents an overview emission sources, physicochemical characteristics, collection measurement methodologies, toxicity, existing control mechanisms (UFPs) last fifteen years.

A robust body of evidence shows that air pollution exposure is detrimental to health outcomes, often measured as deaths and hospitalizations. This literature has focused less on subclinical channels nonetheless impact behavior, performance, skills. article reviews the economic research investigating causal effects nonhealth end points, including labor productivity, cognitive multiple forms decision-making. Subclinical can be more challenging observe than formal care encounters but may pervasive if they affect otherwise healthy people. The wide variety possible impacts should informed by plausible mechanisms require appropriate hypothesis testing limit false discovery. Finally, any detected pollution, in both short long run, dampened costly efforts avoid ex ante remediate its post; these costs must considered for a full welfare analysis.

Ambient air pollution, and especially particulate matter (PM) pollution <2.5 μm in diameter (PM2.5), has clearly emerged as an important yet often overlooked risk factor for atherosclerosis ischemic heart disease (IHD). In this review, we examine the available evidence demonstrating how acute chronic PM2.5 exposure clinically translates into a heightened coronary atherosclerotic burden increased of events. Moreover, provide insights pathophysiologic mechanisms underlying PM2.5-mediated atherosclerosis, focusing on specific biological mechanism through which exerts its detrimental effects. Further, discuss about possible that explain recent findings reporting strong association between severe respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, exposure, morbidity mortality from IHD. We also address mitigation strategies should be implemented to reduce impact cardiovascular mortality, underscoring need clinical trials efficacy interventions (including both reduction and/or drugs) reducing incidence Finally, introduce emerging concept exposome, highlighting close relationship other environmental exposures (i.e.: traffic noise climate change) terms common strategies.

Exposure to airborne particulate matter (PM) has been associated with detrimental health effects. DNA methylation represents the most well-studied epigenetic factor among possible mechanisms underlying this association. Interestingly, changes of in response environmental stimuli are being considered for their role pathogenic mechanism, but also as mediators body adaptation air pollutants. Several studies have evaluated both global and gene-specific relation PM exposure different clinical conditions life stages. The purpose present literature review is evaluate relevant recent field order analyze available evidences on long- short-term changes, a particular focus stages when alteration occurs. modulates affecting several biological marked effects health, especially during susceptible such pregnancy, childhood, older age. Although many cross-sectional investigations conducted so far, only limited number prospective explored potential methylation. Future needed whether these might be reverted.

Due to the highly evolved industrialization and modernization, air quality has deteriorated in most countries. As reported by World Health Organization (WHO), pollution is now considered as one of major threats global health a principal risk factor for noncommunicable diseases. Meanwhile, increasing worldwide prevalence overweight obesity attracting more public attentions. Recently, accumulating epidemiological studies have provided evidence that may be partially attributable environmental exposure pollution. This review summarizes correlation between various outdoor indoor pollutants (mainly particulate matter (PM), nitrogen oxides (NOx), ozone (O3), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)) outcomes recent years. Moreover, it discusses multiple effects during periods throughout life sex differences populations. also describes potential mechanism underlying increased caused pollution, including inflammation, oxidative stress, metabolic imbalance, intestinal flora disorders epigenetic modifications. Finally, this proposes macro- micro-measures prevent negative on prevalence.
