The Chinese manufacturing industry faces many challenges to sustainable development. This study examines how transformational leadership, corporate culture, and digital transformation affect organizations’ sustainability. It will also examine the moderating role of environmental dynamism mediating effect innovation capabilities. A self-administered survey was distributed 350 companies’ owners, managers, leaders, employees, etc. Participants were selected via convenient sampling. data collection effort validated findings empirically tested theories. Air pollution severely threatens people’s health and sustainable economic development. In the era of digital economy, modern information technology is profoundly changing way governments govern, production mode enterprises, living behavior residents. The advancement of the big data industry is playing a pivotal role in urban land management refinement. Recently, China initiated strategy, establishing national comprehensive pilot zones (NBDCPZs) across diverse regions. These initiatives present substantial opportunities for enhancing green use efficiency (ULGUE). Consequently, this study, we utilized super-efficiency slack-based measure (SBM) model with undesirable outputs to assess ULGUEs 281 prefecture-level cities from 2006 2021. Subsequently, leveraging NBDCPZ establishment as quasi-natural experiment, employed difference-in-differences (DID) method empirically explore impact policy on ULGUE first time. findings revealed following: (1) implementation significantly enhances ULGUE; (2) effects are mediated through mechanisms such fostering technological innovation, mitigating resource misallocation, and promoting industrial agglomeration; (3) heterogeneity analysis emphasizes increased effectiveness characterized by fewer natural resources, lower economic growth pressures, stable development stages, moderate digital infrastructure human capital levels; (4) further demonstrates significant positive spillover neighboring non-pilot cities, diminishing proximity between decreases. Overall, study contributes literature relationship economy utilization, offering valuable insights achieving sustainable development.

After long-term development, the global economic level has improved significantly, but environmental issues generated by early extensive development seriously threaten survival of human beings. China, in particular, urgently needs to promote sustainable through green finance policies. For this reason, paper regards 2017 eight pilot zones five provinces for reform and innovations (GFRIs) as a quasi-natural experiment, explores whether it can encourage investment protection heavily polluting enterprises using difference-in-differences-in-differences (DDD) model. The finds that: First, GFRIs bolster heavy enterprises. results remain consistent after several robustness checks, covering placebo test, PSM-DID test so on. Second, mechanism tests find that policy promotes alleviating financing constraints cutting costs. Third, heterogeneity analysis shows promotion effect on is more pronounced with higher percentages secondary industry GDP, large-scale enterprises, better ESG management. ABSTRACT In modern technological competition, environmental innovation is key to creating a win–win situation for the economy and environment driving force in achieving carbon neutrality goals. Based on role identity theory, this study establishes research framework of “role–cognition–behavior.” sample Chinese A‐share listed companies from 2012 2023, we analyze relationship between star CEOs firms' explore mediating interdependent self‐construal moderating risk perception. Our findings show that can actively promote innovation, effect mediated by self‐construal. addition, firm's perception positively moderates innovation.
