Traditional Chinese herbal (TCH) medicines have emerged as a prospective and affordable method to treat various diseases with broad range of biological activity; however, traditional preparations, like decoctions, are often associated low bioavailability, thus resulting in limited efficacy against cancer. The drawbacks active TCH components, including instability, poor permeability, high hydrophilicity or hydrophobicity, undesirable pharmacokinetic profiles, off-target toxicity, also exist. Most clinical alternative for the treatment chronic diseases. A liposomal delivery system is most common class FDA-approved nanomedicines, which has improved pharmacokinetics, enhanced targetability, reduced side effects. Therefore, we anticipate that technology will help concentrate drugs inside tumors, fully release therapeutic potential reduce effects medicines. review provides brief overview several representative components related liposome strategies cancer therapy. Current challenges targeting discussed interested researchers.

Liver cancer is one of the most common causes mortality worldwide. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy are conventional therapies generally employed in patients with liver tumors. The major issue associated administration chemotherapeutics their high toxicity lack selectivity, leading to systemic that can be detrimental patient's quality life. An important approach development original liver-targeted therapeutic products takes advantage employment biologically active ligands able bind specific receptors on cytoplasmatic membranes cells. In this perspective, glycyrrhetinic acid (GA), a pentacyclic triterpenoid present roots rhizomes licorice, has been used as ligand for targeting due expression GA sinusoidal surface mammalian hepatocytes, so it may modify drug delivery systems (DDSs) obtain better or hepatocyte uptake efficacy. current review, we focus recent interesting research advances GA-based hybrid compounds DDSs developed potential efficacious options treatment hepatic cancer.

Abstract Liver cancer is the sixth most prevalent and ranks third in cancer‐related death, after lung colorectal cancer. Various natural products have been discovered as alternatives to conventional therapy strategies, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, surgery. Curcumin (CUR) with antiinflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor activities has associated therapeutic benefits against various cancers. It can regulate multiple signaling pathways, such PI3K/Akt, Wnt/β‐catenin, JAK/STAT, p53, MAPKs, NF‐ĸB, which are involved cell proliferation, metastasis, apoptosis, angiogenesis, autophagy. Due its rapid metabolism, poor oral bioavailability, low solubility water, CUR application clinical practices restricted. To overcome these limitations, nanotechnology‐based delivery systems applied use nanoformulations added benefits, reducing toxicity, improving cellular uptake, targeting tumor sites. Besides anticancer of combating cancers, especially liver cancer, here we focused on nanoformulations, micelles, liposomes, polymeric, metal, solid lipid nanoparticles, others, treatment

Immunotherapy gains increasing focus in treating triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), while its efficacy is greatly restricted owing to low tumor immunogenicity and immunosuppressive microenvironment (ITM). Herein, a LyP-1 chondroitin sulfate (CS) dual-modified liposome co-loaded with paclitaxel (PTX) cryptotanshinone (CTS), namely CS/LyP-1-PC Lip, engineered for TNBC chemoimmunotherapy via induction of immunogenic cell death (ICD) inhibition signal transducer activator transcript-3 (STAT3) activation. Lip enhances cellular uptake through p32 CD44 dual receptor-mediated endocytosis. Within the tumor, CS layer continuously detached by hyaluronidase release drugs. Subsequently, CTS sensitizes cytotoxicity PTX 4T1 cells. induces ICD cells facilitates infiltration cytotoxic T lymphocyte provoke immune response. Meanwhile, concomitant delivery inhibits STAT3 activation decrease regulatory cell, M2-type tumor-associated macrophage, myeloid-derived suppressor thus reversing ITM. Markedly, dual-targeting shows superior anti-tumor subcutaneous mice significant lung metastasis suppression model. Overall, this work offers feasible combination regimen promising nanoplatform development chemoimmunotherapy.

Camptothecin (CPT) is one of the frequently used small chemotherapy drugs for treating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but its clinical application limited due to severe toxicities and acquired resistance. Combined chemo-gene therapy has been reported be an effective strategy counteracting drug resistance while sensitizing cancer cells cytotoxic agents. Thus, we hypothesized that combining CPT with miR-145 could synergistically suppress tumor proliferation enhance anti-tumor activity.
