Extending healthspan is a major public health challenge. Diet one of the modifiable factors for preventing age-related diseases and preserving overall good status during aging. Optimizing individuals’ intrinsic capacity, including domains in cognition, psychological, sensory function, vitality, locomotion, has been proposed as model healthy aging by World Health Organization. Abstract Food preferences significantly influence dietary choices, yet understanding natural patterns in populations remains limited. Here we identifiy four subtypes by applying data-driven approaches to food-liking data from 181,990 UK Biobank participants: ‘starch-free or reduced-starch’ (subtype 1), ‘vegetarian’ 2), ‘high protein and low fiber’ 3) ‘balanced’ 4). These varied diverse brain health domains. The individuals with a balanced diet demonstrated better mental superior cognitive functions relative other three subtypes. Compared subtype 4, 3 displayed lower gray matter volumes regions such as the postcentral gyrus, while 2 showed higher thalamus precuneus. Genome-wide association analyses identified 16 genes different between enriched biological processes related cognition. findings provide new insights into naturally developed patterns, highlighting importance of for health.

The human brain remains one of the greatest challenges for modern medicine, yet it is most integral and sometimes overlooked aspects medicine. consists roughly 100 billion neurons, trillion neuronal connections consumes about 20–25% body’s energy. Emerging evidence highlights that insufficient or inadequate nutrition linked to an increased risk health, mental psychological functioning compromise. A core component this relationship includes intricate dynamics brain-gut-microbiota (BGM) system, which a progressively recognized factor in sphere mental/brain health. bidirectional between brain, gut, gut microbiota along BGM system not only affects nutrient absorption utilization, but also exerts substantial influence on cognitive processes, mood regulation, neuroplasticity, other indices Neuroplasticity brain’s capacity adaptation neural regeneration response stimuli. Understanding neuroplasticity considering interventions enhance remarkable ability change through experience constitutes burgeoning area research has potential improving well-being, resilience, overall health optimal lifestyle interventions. nexus both academic clinical perspectives nutritional neuroscience emerges as potent tool patient outcomes, proactively mitigate challenges, improve management treatment existing conditions by championing health-promoting dietary patterns, rectifying deficiencies, seamlessly integrating nutrition-centered strategies into care.

Abstract Diet is one of the most important external factor shaping composition and metabolic activities gut microbiome. The microbiome plays a crucial role in host health, including immune system development, nutrients metabolism, synthesis bioactive molecules. In addition, has been described as critical for development several mental disorders. Nutritional psychiatry an emerging field research that may provide link between diet, microbial function, brain health. this study, we have reviewed influence different diet types, such Western, Mediterranean, vegetarian, ketogenic, on microbiota their implication various neuropsychiatric psychological
