Systematic reviews are a cornerstone for synthesizing the available evidence on given topic. They simultaneously allow gaps in literature to be identified and provide direction future research. However, due ever-increasing volume complexity of literature, traditional methods conducting systematic less efficient more time-consuming. Numerous artificial intelligence (AI) tools being released with potential optimize efficiency academic writing assist various stages review process including developing refining search strategies, screening titles abstracts inclusion or exclusion criteria, extracting essential data from studies summarizing findings. Therefore, this article we an overview currently how they can incorporated into improve quality research synthesis. We emphasize that authors must report all AI have been used at each stage ensure replicability as part reporting methods.

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental conditions and highly heterogeneous in terms symptom profile, associated cognitive deficits, comorbidities, outcomes. Heterogeneity may also affect ability to recognize diagnose this condition. The diagnosis ADHD primarily clinical but there are increasing research efforts aiming at identifying biomarkers that can aid diagnosis.

Abstract Mental health is shaped by socio-environmental determinants, yet traditional research approaches struggle to capture their complex interactions. This review explores the potential of generative agents, powered large language models, simulate human-like behaviour in virtual environments for mental research. We outline applications including modelling adverse life events, urbanicity, climate change, discuss challenges and describe how agents could transform

Abstract Background Few studies have examined the long-term outcomes of first-episode psychosis (FEP) among patients beyond symptomatic and functional remission. This study aimed to broaden scope outcome indicators by examining relationships between 12 FEP at 20.9 years after their initial diagnosis. Methods At follow-up, 220 out 550 original underwent a new assessment. Twelve were assessed via semistructured interviews complementary scales: symptom severity, impairment, personal recovery, social disadvantage, physical health, number suicide attempts, episodes, current drug use, dose-years antipsychotics (DYAps), cognitive motor abnormalities, DSM-5 final The these measures investigated using Spearman’s correlation analysis exploratory factor analysis, while specific connections ascertained network analysis. Results significantly correlated; specifically, functioning, recovery showed strongest correlations. Exploratory revealed two factors, with 11 loading on first factor. Network that diagnosis, DYAps, episodes most interconnected outcomes. Conclusion provided insights into heterogeneity FEP. By considering rich net interconnections elucidated herein can facilitate development interventions target potentially modifiable generalize impact

Abstract Background Bipolar disorder (BD) and schizophrenia (SZ) are the two main mental disorders with unknown etiology that significantly impact individuals’ quality of life. The potential pro-inflammatory role in their pathogenesis is postulated Human Endogenous Retrovirus W (HERV-W) an emerging candidate to modulate this pathogenic finding. HERVs, ancient retroviruses human genome, may play roles inflammation disease pathogenesis. Despite HERVs’ involvement autoimmune diseases, influence on remains underexplored. Therefore, aim study was assess level HERV-W-env expression systemic inflammatory profile through concentration IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α INF-γ cytokines BD SZ patients. Results All participants showed expression, but its higher patients ( p < 0.01) than control. When separated, individuals exhibited HERV-W control group 0.01). Abstract The hypoactivity of parvalbumin-containing interneurons (PV-interneurons) is a pathogenetic mechanism schizophrenia according to the glutamatergic theory, and PV-interneurons are necessary for generation EEG/MEG gamma-frequencies (30–100 Hz). present study aims literature synthesis on resting-state gamma-frequency changes in patients with vs healthy controls, examine relationship between these severity symptoms. A protocol was enregistered PROSPERO systematic search conducted PubMed, PsycINFO Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews, following PRISMA guidelines. An exploratory metanalysis realized. Out 1391 records, 43 were included qualitative ( N = 2133 [11–185], females 37.4%, age 33.9 ± 9.2). Results power spectra heterogeneous: 12 studies gamma increased, involving whole brain 3), multiple regions 6) or only frontal 1), central n 1) temporal areas; 3 reduced, areas 2) right region 1); one revealed mixed results 13 showed no differences. meta-analysis 4 211) non-significant differences controls large heterogeneity. functional connectivity picture consists sparse patterns decreases and/or increases, widespread regions. Relationships emerged psychotic cognitive Theta-gamma coupling increased patients, limited evidence other phase-amplitude coupling. Resting-state alterations inconsistent across studies; heterogeneity methods could partially explain this outcome.

Improving quality of life (QoL) is important for the treatment people with bipolar disorder (BD). Early-BipoLife a German multicentre naturalistic, prospective-longitudinal observational cohort study investigating early recognition and intervention in at increased risk developing BD. This analysis aims to investigate influencing factors changes QoL as basis development strategies patients syndrome A 1086 participants (15-35 years) least one factor (EPIbipolar criteria) BD was assessed over course 2 years. Changes (WHOQOL-BREF) were evaluated mixed model repeated measures. Compared an age-matched comparison group, showed significant lower all domains baseline. The overall psychological well-being domain WHOQOL-BREF year (p < 0.001). group (EPIbipolar) change from baseline divided into (a) decreasing, (b) increasing (c) constant Baseline assignment not predictor years any domains, but increase 2-year had significantly smaller gain than = 0.014) or decreasing Higher levels associated higher self-rated ability use coping strategies. Moreover, level functioning (GAF) positively correlated improvement different after Patients reported reduced compared their group. Risk status monitoring might be beneficial identify individuals who could profit QoL. Further studies promoting successful self-management helpful improve mental health influence
