Non-alcoholic
fatty
liver
disease
(NAFLD),
or
hepatic
steatosis,
has
become
one
of
the
most
common
pathologies
among
liver-related
disorders.
The
rapid
accumulation
fat
in
this
organ,
and
consequent
increment
oxidative
stress
levels,
have
been
recognized
as
main
factors
involved
pathological
mechanism
underlying
progressive
non-alcoholic
steatohepatitis.
Experimental
epidemiological
data
shown
how
antioxidant
compounds
rich
phenolic
groups,
such
resveratrol
quercetin,
are
particular
efficient
contrasting
onset
pathology.
In
work,
an
vitro
model
NAFLD
was
established
based
on
oleic
acid-treated
HepG2
cells.
Steatotic
cells

treated
with
polydopamine

Lifestyle
factors

Background
Childhood
maltreatment
