Background/Objectives: Poor sleep quality, depression, and anxiety are associated with subjective cognitive decline (SCD) greater risk for developing impairment Alzheimer’s disease. The COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted habits psychological well-being in many individuals, yet their relationship to SCD this context remains understudied. We examined sociodemographic characteristics, anxiety, changes during the (i.e., increased problems/poorer quality) older individuals living US. Methods: In total, 288 adults (Mage = 67.4 [7.4]) completed an online survey including a questionnaire, Center Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (Revised) (CES-D-10; depression), General Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7; anxiety), Everyday Cognition scale (ECog; SCD), question about problems/worsened quality pandemic. Hierarchical logistic regression analyses were used assess relations among factors, SCD. Results: Self-reported pandemic-related impairments (β 0.16, p 0.01). 0.46, < 0.001) 0.29, also (OR 1.17, 1.15, 0.017) predicted reported poorer Conclusions: Depression, concerns. Greater depression quality. Prevention management of depressive symptoms may help maintain reduce decline.

The restraining measures due to the COVID-19 outbreak deeply affected general population’s sleep health and psychological status. current literature proposes young older people as two particularly at-risk groups. However, differential impact of lockdown period in these specific age categories needs be disentangled. Through a web-based survey adopting validated questionnaires, we evaluated compared quality/habits, insomnia, perceived stress, depression, anxiety symptoms Italian late adolescents (n = 670; mean ± SD, 19.38 0.74, 18–20 years) elderly 253; 68.18 2.79, 65–75 years). Young respondents reported more severe insomnia symptoms, worse subjective quality, longer latency, higher daytime dysfunction, prevalent disruption habits (bedtime, get-up time, nap) than elderly. On other hand, participants showed shorter duration, lower habitual efficiency, greater use medications. Finally, younger population displayed levels depression stress. Our findings indicate that had pervasive repercussions on mental adolescents. implementation supportive strategies is encouraged for this vulnerable group.

Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic brought about an increased reliance on the Internet for various daily activities. Given known digital divide, it is important to understand whether older adults changed their use patterns, but current evidence limited cross-sectional studies. This study documents changes in frequency and types of among from before shortly after outbreak (2018/2019 June/July 2020), factors predicting regular during these early days pandemic. Using data 6,840 aged 50 + nationally representative English Longitudinal Study Ageing, we apply longitudinal fixed-effects models examine within-individual behaviour. There was no change likelihood between 2018/2019 2020, despite digitalisation services over Daily 2020 negatively related age, neighbourhood deprivation, loneliness, positively partnership status, education, employment, income, organisation membership. making calls getting information Government increased, which given social restrictions overall uncertainty. Governments implemented many non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) to suppress the spread of COVID-19 with varying results. In this paper, country-level daily time series from Our World in Data facilitates a global analysis propagation virus, policy responses and human mobility patterns. High death counts mortality ratios influence compliance levels. Evidence long-term fatigue was found dropping over 85% first half 2020 less than 40% at start 2021, driven by factors such as economic necessity optimism coinciding vaccine effectiveness. NPIs ranged facial coverings restrictions on mobility, these are compared using an empirical assessment their impact growth rate case numbers. Masks most cost-effective NPI currently available, delivering four times more school closures, approximately double that other restrictions. Gathering were second effective. International travel controls public information campaigns had negligible effects. Literacy rates income support played key roles maintaining compliance. A 10% increase literacy associated 3.2% compliance, while greater previous earnings increased 4.8%.

The link between cognitive function and emotion regulation may be helpful in better understanding the onset, maintenance, treatment for depression. However, it remains unclear whether there are neural correlates dysregulation deficits To address this question, we first review representations of depression (including control biases). Based on comparisons versus deficits, propose an accessible reasonable dysregulation, control, biases Specifically, serves whole process regulation, whereas engaged processes at different stages. Moreover, abnormal implementation strategies is consistently affected by which involved dorsolateral, dorsomedial prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulate cortex. Besides, relationship distinct: orbitofrontal cortex contributes to association ineffective reappraisal negative interpretation bias, while subgenual posterior underline tendency depressed individuals ruminate overly engage self-referential bias. This sheds light identifies directions need future attention.
