A
three-dimensional
(3D)
metal–organic
framework
(MOF)
[Cd(bbip)(NDC)]n
(JXUST-8,
bbip
=
2,6-bis(benzimidazol-1-yl)pyridine,
and
H2NDC
2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic
acid)
with
8-connected
bcg
topology
has
been
solvothermally
synthesized
fully
characterized.
The
fluorescence
experiments
demonstrate
that
JXUST-8
could
selectively
distinguish
methylamine
(MA)
by
red
shift,
the
detection
limit
is
0.341
ppm.
It
noteworthy
red-shift
emission
enlarge
signal,
which
beneficial
to
realize
sensing.
In
addition,
performs
relatively
good
thermal
stability,
chemical
reusability.
Importantly,
be
considered
as
first
example
of
a
bbip-based
MOF
well
second
case
red-shifted
sensor
toward
MA.

Among

recent
developments
in
metal-organic
frameworks
(MOFs),
porous
layered
coordination
polymers
(CPs)
have
garnered
attention
due
to
their
modular
nature

tunable
structures.
These
factors
enable
a
number

properties
applications,
including
gas
guest
sorption,
storage
separation
gases
small
molecules,
catalysis,
luminescence,
sensing,
magnetism,
energy
conversion.
MOFs,
two-dimensional
(2D)
compounds
are
also
known
as
2D
CPs
or
MOFs.
Since
discovery
graphene
2004,
materials
been
widely
studied.
Several
MOFs
suitable
for
exfoliation
ultrathin
nanosheets
similar
other
materials,
making
these
structures
useful
unique
various
technological
applications.
Furthermore,
fascinating
topological
networks
entanglements.

In
this
work,
a
series
of
novel
multistimulus-responsive
lanthanide
coordination
polymers
{[LnL(H2O)4]Cl3·3H2O}n
(Ln
=
Dy,
Tb,
Eu)
constructed
using
dicarboxylic
acid
viologen
derivative
L
(L
N,N'-4,4'-bipyridiniodipropionate)
and
LnCl3·6H2O
were
prepared.
All
materials
showed
positive
responses
to
UV
light,
the
photochromic
phenomena
accompanied
by
significant
photoquenching
photoluminescence
could
be
observed
through
photoelectron
transfer
mechanism.
Strikingly,
Dy
analogue
displayed
photomagnetic
behavior,
as
well
responded
positively
small
molecules
inorganic
ammonia/organic
amines.
Furthermore,
good
photoresponsive
ammonia/amine
vapor-responsive
properties
Dy-based
material
further
fulfilled
in
dual-function
papers
involving
erasable
inkless
printing
visual
amine
detection
applications.
This
work
aims
advance
development
multifunctional
incorporating
derivates
versatile
ions
enriches
research
field.

As
a
new
class
of
multifunctional
materials,
photochromic
materials
have
received
much
attention
due
to
their
potential
applications
in
many
fields.
In
order
investigate
the
effect
anions
on
electron-transfer
properties
coordination
polymers,
five
bipyridinium-based
complexes
with
different
anions,
namely
[Zn(bcbpy)(H2O)(Cl)]·Cl·2H2O
(1),
[Zn(bcbpy)(H2O)(Br)]·Br·2H2O
(2),
[Zn(bcbpy)2]·2I·6H2O
(3),
[Zn(bcbpy)2]·2ClO4·6.4H2O
(4),
and
[Zn(bcbpy)(N3)2]·3H2O
(5)
(H2bcbpy·2Cl
=
1,1′-bis(3-carboxylatobenzyl)-4,4′-bipyridinium
dichloride),
were
synthesized
via
self-assembly
characterized
by
IR
spectroscopy,
elemental
analysis,
thermogravimetric
single-crystal
X-ray
diffraction.
Due
charge
transfer
interactions
between
electron-deficient
bipyridinium
moiety,
these
exhibit
behaviors.
Specifically,
1,
2,
4,
5
but
3
was
not.
This
difference
could
be
attributed
stronger
interaction
complex
comparison
5,
as
well
heavy-atom
iodine.
It
is
expected
that
this
study
will
provide
perspective
for
rational
design
synthesis
novel
materials.

A
photochromic
material
based
on
viologen
was
synthesized.
During
the
photo-induced
color
transition,
DC
magnetic
susceptibility
enhanced
by
48%,
and
an
increase
in
relaxation
time
after
illumination
observed.
