Abstract Reminiscence‐based interventions focus on the recall of autobiographical memories and reflective reasoning about these remembered experiences. This study assessed effect a three‐session, positive‐memory version cognitive‐reminiscence therapy (CRT) psychological resources mental well‐being young adults. The participants ( N = 62, M age 24.6 [ SD 3.1], 71% females) were randomised to CRT or wait‐list. Episodic memory for specific personal events is a fundamental human cognitive faculty. Yet it variably valued across cultures and may thus have different implications psychological well-being. Abstract Background Older adults living in residential aged care facilities ( RACF s) often experience limited opportunities for social connection despite close proximity to peers, which has implications mental health and quality of life (QoL). The introduction large‐scale undergraduate student placements s may enhance meaningful engagement through connection, although this remains unexplored. Objective This research explores whether interpersonal encounters between students residents influence residents’ QoL. Methods A mixed methods design was employed included questionnaire data from residents, qualitative interview family members staff. Data were collected during after allow an in‐depth exploration staff perspectives. Results Forty‐three participants (28 10 five members) recruited 2014. The coherence of autobiographical memories plays an important role in psychological well-being, as borne out by recent studies. This study aimed to advance this understanding assessing whether predicted depressive symptoms over time adults. Further, it specify mediators through which association might occur, namely resources self-esteem self-efficacy, meaning life, and optimism. A sample 160 participants ( M age = 26.4, SD 3.2, 58.1% women) completed surveys at three time-points spaced 1 week apart. contained measures the perceived life stories memories, resources, symptoms. results a path analysis model, controlling for baseline, indicated that causal was only unique predictor later symptoms, occurred positive self-concept, represented self-efficacy. Limitations include no examination cultural background moderating factor short time-intervals. Overall, findings provide further evidence perception how events have unfolded impacted on one's sense self is particularly mitigating It extends our showing occurs changes self-concept.

Summary The aim of this study was to assess the longitudinal associations between adaptive autobiographical memory functions and depressive symptoms. Consistent with proposed mechanisms change underpinning cognitive‐reminiscence therapy (CRT), it hypothesised that more frequent reminiscence would lead increases in psychological resources over time indirectly affect symptoms through pathway. A sample 171 young adults (mean age = 25.9 years, SD 3.5) completed measures how frequently they utilised for identity‐continuity problem‐solving purposes, personal (self‐esteem, self‐efficacy, meaning life optimism) at two time‐points. results structural equation modelling supported model indirect influence depression these resources.
