Abstract The neuroscience community has largely accepted the notion that functional neurons can be generated from neural stem cells in adult brain, especially two brain regions: subventricular zone of lateral ventricles and subgranular dentate gyrus hippocampus. However, impaired neurogenesis been observed some neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s also Lewy Body dementia. Therefore, restoration neurogenic function diseases emerges as a potential therapeutic strategy to counteract, or at least delay, disease progression. Considering this, present study summarizes different neuronal niches, provides collection pro-neurogenic strategies pre-clinical clinical research, providing details about their possible modes action, guide future research practice.

Abstract The elderly population is increasing worldwide every day. Age a significant factor in the progression of neurological diseases, which can also cause cognitive decline and memory disorders. Inflammation oxidative stress are primary drivers senescence disorders, particularly those associated with aging neurodegenerative diseases. Bioactive phytochemicals considered promising therapeutic strategy combating age-related pathological conditions. One diverse biological properties encompassing antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, anticancer, antifungal, antidepressant, anti-allergic, anti-aging curcumin. Curcumin, polyphenolic structure distinct orange hue unique chemical properties, derived from roots Curcuma longa, member Zingiberaceae family, commonly known as turmeric. It has been noted that incidence diseases low societies consume curcumin widely. Therefore, this review investigates effect on Alzheimer Parkinson disease, most prevalent

Neurogenesis is a complex process by which the neurons and supporting cells of central nervous system (CNS) are generated neural stem cells. Adult hippocampal neurogenesis (AHN) in human brain an active during life plays critical role regulation memory, cognition, mood. It has been shown that epilepsy linked with dysregulation AHN. Of note, AHN very sensitive to pathological electrical stimuli epileptic seizures, result induction acute inhibition chronic epilepsy. Epileptic seizure-induced neurodegeneration activates mobilization substitute for loss temporal lobe (TLE), most refractory type Moreover, recurrent seizures TLE trigger certain regions. However, transient seizure terminated 1-4 weeks following status epilepticus (SE). Nevertheless, adult dramatically reduced associated development cognitive impairment TLE. These findings indicate severity seizures. Hence, activators may attenuate pathogenesis Therefore, this review aims discuss explain beneficial how could be effective management

Oxidative stress is essential in brain injury after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Ferroptosis, iron-dependent oxidative cell death, overwhelms the antioxidant system. Recently, Olfactory mucosa-derived mesenchymal stem cells (OM-MSCs) hold great potential for treating ferroptosis-mediated damage ICH. However, massive grafted possibly caused by a hostile host microenvironment, lessens effectiveness of OM-MSCs. Therefore, it necessary to develop strategies upregulate therapeutic efficacy OM-MSCs Curcumin, well-established traditional herbal substance, has potent property. In present study, curcumin preconditioning might enhance anti-oxidative activity OM-MSCs, thereby augmenting vitro model ICH, we demonstrated that curcumin-preconditioned co-culture more effective attenuating injury, stress, and ferroptosis neuronal compared native treatment. vivo transplantation also showed better neuroprotective effects. Moreover, pretreatment promoted survival under conditioned medium from hemin-insulted neurons improving capacities Collectively, our investigation suggested effectively enhanced effects ICH upregulating Curcumin-preconditioned be taken as novel strategy

The rhizomatous plant turmeric, which is frequently used as a spice and coloring ingredient, yields curcumin, bioactive compound. Curcumin inhibits platelet activation aggregation improves count. Platelets dysfunction results in several disorders, including inflammation, atherothrombosis, thromboembolism. Several studies have proved the beneficial role of curcumin on platelets hence it an important candidate for treatment aforementioned diseases. Moreover, also employed anti-inflammatory agent conventional medicine. In arthritic patients, has been shown to reduce generation pro-inflammatory eicosanoids edema, morning stiffness, other symptoms. taken orally reduced rats’ acute inflammation brought by carrageenan. proven prevent atherosclerosis aggregation, well angiogenesis adipose tissue. cerebral microcirculation, significantly lowered leukocyte adhesion. It largely modulated endothelium Additionally, P-selectin expression mice survival after cecal ligation puncture were improved altered adhesion blood–brain barrier dysfunction. Through regulating many processes involved curcuminoids collectively demonstrated detectable antiplatelet activity. Curcuminoids may therefore be able disorders linked possible therapeutic agents.
