Abstract This study investigates the barriers that hinder non-leading Brazilian higher education institutions (HEIs) in repositioning within digital landscape based on dynamic capabilities. In-depth semi-structured interviews with top managers at six HEIs show main include uncertainty about traditional HEI future scenario, lack of strategic tools to reposition HEIs, knowledge cost-benefit an institution’s digitization, how implement changes, and information if should (or not) meet all new stakeholder needs. The students’ lacked of interest in learning English at Junior High School tended to cause having short memory on the material being explained. Micro-learning is a tiny activity by teachers and learners classroom, help memory. This means that need provide bit-sized students maintain their memories. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Chair in the open educational movement for Latin America aims to promote scientific, technological, entrepreneurial, innovative development. Microlearning, an emerging educational approach, has gained increasing attention across various fields in recent years, leading to extensive scientific literature. However, it remains underexplored terms of a comprehensive quantitative analysis, posing challenges for researchers tracking the overall development specific themes. Therefore, this study presents bibliometric analysis evolving landscape microlearning publications from 2007 2023 extracted Scopus database while employing VOSviewer, Biblioshiny, and ATLAS.ti. Leveraging qualitative approaches, encompasses 256 documents 206 sources, identifying key trends themes prevalent selected publications. The findings revealed 19.37% annual growth, highlighting rising prominence research. In addition, uncovered influential articles, prolific authors, most productive institutions, countries, primary distinct subject areas. trending themes, indicated that studies focused on four areas within – (1) design tools, (2) efficacy impact, (3) implementation utilization, (4) advantages disadvantages. These offer vauable insights into trajectory research suggest promising directions future scholarly inquiry rapidly developing field.
