Considering professional level experiences, predominant themes consisted new roles responsibilities workers, burnout distress, recognition ´unseen´ positive changes emergent solutions amid crisis. Organisational findings provision psychological support, as "catalyst" change, exercise more "open" leadership by managers authorities. Although burnout is a widely studied topic, there still much to learn about this symptom during pandemic crisis like the one caused by COVID-19. Moreover, and according Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) theory, relation between personal resources an understudied topic. The main goal of research understand influence mental resilience on three dimensions burnout-emotional exhaustion, depersonalization achievement-among healthcare workers when exposed situation. A cross-sectional study was conducted based administration online survey sample 196 (nurses doctors) second wave COVID-19 in Portugal. Hypotheses were tested using Partial Least Squares. results show that situation, higher levels associated both with lower emotional exhaustion (Emotional Exhaustion: −0.17; 95% Confidence Interval–CI: −0.38, 0.04) (Depersonalization: CI: −0.31, −0.03), achievement (Personal Achievement: 0.50; 0.40, 0.61). Resilience should be considered important asset for reducing facing highly stressing situations. contribution related role as inhibitor negative consequences job strain, such burnout. findings add new knowledge topic fighting (not just understanding) deeply stressful situations, pandemic, reinforcing importance developing resources. skills may developed, thus risk
