Smartphones are becoming a daily necessity for most undergraduates in Mainland China. Because the present scenario of problematic smartphone use (PSU) is largely unexplored, current study we aimed to estimate prevalence PSU and screen suitable predictors among Chinese framework stress-coping theory.A sample 1062 undergraduate users was recruited by means stratified cluster random sampling strategy between April May 2015. The Problematic Cellular Phone Use Questionnaire used identify PSU. We evaluated five candidate risk factors using logistic regression analysis while controlling demographic characteristics specific features use.The estimated be 21.3%. were majoring humanities, high monthly income from family (≥1500 RMB), serious emotional symptoms, perceived stress, perfectionism-related (high doubts about actions, parental expectations).PSU appears ubiquitous thus constitutes public health issue Although further longitudinal studies required test whether transient phenomenon or chronic progressive condition, our successfully identified socio-demographic psychological These results, obtained representative undergraduates, opens up new avenues terms prevention regulation policies.

Background Anxiety has been associated with new-onset cardiovascular disease (CVD), but the quality of this relationship is unclear. Only if anxiety a causal, independent risk factor might it be target for CVD prevention. Aims To determine and examine association causality between incident CVD. Method PubMed, EMBASE PsycINFO databases were searched up to October 2013. A review Hill's criteria random effects meta-analysis conducted prospective, population-based studies examining in people free from at baseline. Results The comprised 37 papers ( n = 1 565 699). follow-up ranged 24 years. was 52% increased incidence (hazard ratio 1.52, 95% CI 1.36–1.71). seemed traditional factors depression. evaluation largely argued favour causality. The aim of the current study was to investigate association between anxiety and cannabis use/cannabis use disorders in general population. A total N = 267 studies were identified from a systematic literature search (any time- March 2013) Medline PsycInfo databases, hand search. results 31 (with prospective cohort or cross-sectional designs using non-institutionalised cases) analysed random-effects meta-analysis with inverse variance weights. Lifetime past 12-month use, symptoms, (CUD; dependence and/or abuse/harmful use) classified according DSM/ICD criteria scores on standardised scales. There small positive either (OR 1.24, 95% CI: 1.06-1.45, p .006; 15 studies) CUD 1.68, 1.23-2.31, .001; 13 studies), comorbid + depression 1.17-2.40, .004; 5 studies). associations (or CUD) present subgroups ORs adjusted for possible confounders (substance psychiatric illness, demographics) clinical diagnoses anxiety. Unmanaged distress has been shown to adversely affect survival and quality of life in breast cancer survivors. Fortunately, can be managed even prevented with appropriate evidence-based interventions. Therefore, the objective this systematic review was synthesize published literature around predictors female survivors help guide targeted intervention prevent distress. Relevant studies were located by searching MEDLINE, Embase, PsycINFO, CINAHL databases. Significance directionality associations for commonly assessed candidate (n ≥ 5) significant (p ≤ 0.05) at least two summarized descriptively. Predictors evaluated based on proportion that showed a positive association presence Forty-two met target criteria included review. Breast treatment-related more advanced diagnosis, treatment chemotherapy, longer primary duration, recent transition into survivorship, recurrence. Manageable symptoms associated menopausal/vasomotor symptoms, pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance. Sociodemographic characteristics increased risk younger age, non-Caucasian ethnicity, being unmarried, lower socioeconomic status.
