Anxiety symptoms are common among adolescents. A well-validated and easy-to-use tool is indispensable to measure detect anxiety for timely interventions. The Generalized Disorder Scale-7 item (GAD-7) a self-report scale used the severity of has been validated in adult populations, but psychometric properties GAD-7 remained rarely tested study aimed investigate reliability validity Chinese Sex- age-specific analyses were conducted large sample adolescents (n = 67,281, aged 10-17 years). Our results showed that scores higher female older presented good internal consistency unidimensional structure across sex- groups. significantly correlated with Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9, self-reported depression symptoms) all subgroups, indicating acceptable criterion validity. In conclusion, psychometrics can serve as screening at populational level.

Despite extensive investigations of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales-21 (DASS-21) since its development in 1995, factor structure and other psychometric properties still need to be firmly established, with several calls for revising item structure. Employing confirmatory analysis (CFA), this study examined DASS-21 five shortened versions among psychiatric patients (N = 168) general public 992) during COVID-19 confinement period Saudi Arabia. Multigroup CFA, Mann Whitney W test, Spearman’s correlation, coefficient alpha were used examine (DASS-13, DASS-12, DASS-9 (two versions), DASS-8) invariance across age gender groups, discriminant validity, predictive coverage, internal consistency, respectively. Compared DASS-21, all three-factor structures expressed good fit, DASS-8 demonstrating best fit highest loadings on corresponding factors both samples (χ2(16, 15) 16.5, 67.0; p 0.420, 0.001; CFI 1.000, 0.998; TLI 0.999, 0.997; RMSEA 0.013, 0.059, SRMR 0.0186, 0.0203). Abstract Mental health problems are common in college students even the late stage of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak. Network analysis is a novel approach to explore interactions mental disorders at symptom level. The aim this study was elucidate characteristics depressive and anxiety symptoms network COVID-19 A total 3062 were included. seven-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) nine-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) used measure symptoms, respectively. Central bridge identified based on centrality indices, stability examined using case-dropping procedure. strongest direct relation between “Nervousness” “Uncontrollable worry”. “Fatigue” has highest node strength depression network, followed by “Excessive worry”, “Trouble relaxing”, “Motor” showed strength, “Feeling afraid” “Restlessness”. whole robust both accuracy tests. “Fatigue”, relaxing” critical “Motor”, “Restlessness” highlighted study. Targeting interventions these may be important effectively alleviate overall level students.

Abstract Background Difficulties in emotion regulation (DER) are widely considered to underlie anxiety and depression. Given the prevalence of depression adolescents fact that adolescence is a key period for development ability, it important examine how DER related clinical settings. Methods In present study, we assessed 209 settings using Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) Hospital Anxiety Depression (HADS) examined associations between six components 14 symptoms We used network analysis, constructed circular multidimensional scaling (MDS) networks, calculated centrality, bridge stability centrality indices. Results The results showed that: (1) global index shows Strategy component (i.e., lack access strategies) center whole network, ranking highest strength, closeness, betweenness, expected influence. (2) MDS closeness symptoms, while Awareness emotional awareness) stayed away from other components, but close some symptoms. (3) nodes three groups, DERS, Worry Relax Cheerful Slow had strongest relationships with groups. Conclusion Lack strategies remains not only also DER-anxiety-depression awareness anxiety. Worrying thoughts inability relax bridging anxiety, cheerful emotions slowing down These findings suggest making more accessible patients reducing these may yield greatest rewards therapy.

Background The move away from investigating mental disorders as whole using sum scores to the analysis of symptom-level interactions network has provided new insights into comorbidities. current study explored dynamic between depressive and anxiety symptoms in older Chinese adults with diabetes mellitus (DM) identified central bridge depression-anxiety provide potential targets for prevention intervention depression anxiety. Methods This used a cross-sectional design data 2017–2018 wave Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS). A regularized partial correlation was estimated based on self-reported scales completed by 1685 DM aged 65 years or older. Depressive were assessed 10-item Center Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CESD-10) Seven-Item Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7), respectively. Expected influence (EI) expected (BEI) indices calculated each symptom. Results According cutoff indicating presence anxiety, prevalences our sample 52.9% 12.8%, comorbidity rate 11.5%. six edges strongest correlations same disorder. “Feeling blue/depressed”, “Nervousness anxiety”, “Uncontrollable worry”, “Trouble relaxing”, “Worry too much” had highest EI values. anxiety” “Everything an effort” exhibited BEI Conclusion Central highlighted this study. Targeting these may be effective preventing facilitate interventions who are at risk currently have symptoms.
