Immune system modulation is an intriguing part of scientific research. It well established that the immune plays a crucial role in orchestrating cellular and molecular key mediators, thus establishing powerful defense barrier against infectious pathogens. Gut microbiota represent complex community approximately hundred trillion microorganisms live mammalian gastrointestinal (GI) tract, contributing to maintenance gut homeostasis via regulation innate adaptive responses. However, impairment crosstalk between intestinal immunity may reflect on detrimental health issues. In this context, many studies have indicated probiotics their bioactive compounds, such as bacteriocins short chain fatty acids (SCFAs), display distinct immunomodulatory properties through which they suppress inflammation enhance restoration microbial diversity pathological states. This review highlights fundamental features probiotics, bacteriocins, SCFAs, make them ideal therapeutic agents for amelioration inflammatory autoimmune diseases. also describes underlying mechanisms emphasizes how influence function cells involved regulating homeostasis. Finally, it discusses future perspectives challenges administration individuals.

Virome research is a rapidly growing area in the microbiome field that increasingly associated with human diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Although substantial progress has been made, major methodological challenges limit our understanding of virota. In this review, we describe must be considered to accurately report virome composition and current knowledge on health IBD. First, description shows strong biases related wetlab (e.g., VLP enrichment) bioinformatics approaches (viral identification classification). Second, IBD patients show consistent viral imbalances characterized by high relative abundance phages belonging Caudovirales low Microviridae. Simultaneously, sporadic contraction CrAss-like potential expansion lysogenic intestinal are observed. Finally, despite numerous studies have conducted diversity analysis, it difficult draw firm conclusions due biases. Overall, present many environmental factors influence virome, its consensus IBD, contributing hypothesis called “positive feedback loop” may play role pathophysiology

Chronic enteropathies (CE) are common in dogs, but not all affected dogs respond to standard therapy. Successful responses faecal microbial transplantation (FMT) with non-responsive CE have been reported two case series. The objective of this retrospective study was describe the clinical effects FMT as an adjunctive therapy a larger population CE. Forty-one aged 0.6-13.0 years (median 5.8) under treatment for at one referral animal hospital were included. Dogs treated 1-5 3) FMTs rectal enema dose 5-7 g/kg body weight. canine inflammatory bowel disease activity index (CIBDAI) compared baseline versus after last FMT. Stored samples (n = 16) analysed dysbiosis index. Aberrant changes in the gut microbiota are implicated many diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Gut microbes produce diverse metabolites that can shape immune system and impact intestinal barrier integrity, indicating microbe-mediated modulation may be a promising strategy for preventing treating IBD. Although fecal transplantation probiotic supplementation well-established IBD therapies, novel chemical agents safe exert strong effects on urgently needed. Herein, we report total synthesis of heudelotinone discovery 5

The gut microbiota is recognized as an endocrine organ with the capacity to influence distant organs and associated biological pathways. Recent advancements underscore critical role of microbial homeostasis in female health; dysbiosis potentially leading diseases among women such polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, breast cancer, cervical cancer etc. Despite this, there has been limited discussion on underlying mechanisms. This editorial explores three potential mechanisms through which may impact development women, namely, immune system, microbiota-estrogen axis, metabolite pathway. We focused approaches for treating by addressing imbalances probiotics, prebiotics supplementation, fecal transplantation (FMT). Future studies should focus determining molecular associations between realize precision medicine, FMT emerging a promising intervention.

The genus Bifidobacterium has been widely used in functional foods for health promotion due to its beneficial effects on human health, especially the gastrointestinal tract (GIT). In this study, we characterize anti-inflammatory potential of probiotic strain pseudocatenulatum G7, isolated from a healthy male adult. G7 secretion inhibited inflammatory response lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Moreover, oral administration bacteria alleviated severity colonic inflammation dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-treated colitis mice, which was evidenced by decreased disease activity index (DAI) and enhanced structural integrity colon. 16S rRNA gene sequencing result illustrated that DSS-induced gut microbiota dysbiosis, accompanied modulated bile acids short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) levels. Overall, our results demonstrated both vitro vivo models, provided solid foundation further development novel probiotic.

Abstract Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common malignancy globally and second leading cause of cancer-related mortality. Its development a multifactorial multistage process influenced by dynamic interplay between gut microbiota, environmental factors, fatty acid metabolism. Dysbiosis intestinal microbiota abnormalities in microbiota-associated metabolites have been implicated colorectal carcinogenesis, highlighting pivotal role microbial metabolic interactions. Fatty metabolism serves as critical nexus linking dietary patterns with activity, significantly impacting health. In CRC patients, reduced levels short-chain acids (SCFAs) SCFA-producing bacteria consistently observed. Supplementation probiotics has demonstrated tumor-suppressive effects, while therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating SCFA shown potential enhancing efficacy radiation therapy immunotherapy both preclinical clinical settings. This review explores intricate relationship metabolism, CRC, offering insights into underlying mechanisms their translational applications. Understanding this could pave way for novel diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive management CRC.
