The role of ChatGPT and higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) as predictors physics inquiry among upper-secondary students has yet to be widely explored. Therefore, this research aimed examine students' in (convenience quality (CQ), motivation engagement (ME), accuracy trust (AT)) HOTS inquiry. Data were collected from 334 Indonesia through online questionnaires analyzed with SPSS software using correlation multiple linear regression. results showed that CQ had the strongest HOTS, significant being response speed, concept linkage, explanation quality. Abstract Students' perspectives on using generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots and machine learning are crucial in shaping the design, development, implementation of their projects across various disciplines. Cognitive thinking, a key aspect AI-related learning, aims to replicate human behavior. However, relation between cognitive thinking knowledge acquisition is not always clear. Therefore, it essential for students engage higher-order which allows them critically analyze diverse viewpoints, assess relevance, understand complex relationship acquisition. This empirical study investigates role skills, such as problem-solving, critical creativity, academic achievements attitudes toward technologies AI chatbots. Four hundred sixteen undergraduate (n = 416) from backgrounds voluntarily took part project, they designed developed media information literacy courses. The findings indicate that creativity mediated but its moderating impact was significant. Problem-solving did show significant mediating effects while showed connection performance learning. contributes by elucidating interrelationships students’ performance, use technologies. In the age of intelligence, information technology (IT) education has become focus attention in sector. However, traditional teaching methods fall short motivating students and fostering higher-order thinking have difficulty providing a personalized learning experience. Although AI chatbots can provide instant feedback as an innovative tool, it is still challenging to fully enhance learner engagement. Based on this, this study developed digital game-based chatbot system students’ experience through strategies. This utilized quasi-experimental design with experimental group using control chatbot. A comparison was made between two groups concerning student performance IT courses, (including problem-solving, computational thinking, creativity), motivation, flow addition, behavioral patterns high-achieving low-achieving were analyzed. The results showed that significantly better than academic performance, experience, but there no significant difference creativity tendency. Behavioral pattern analysis more systematic strategies, while relied immediate external help, both high- able actively talk explore problem-solving strategies game.
