Purpose Young adults may use alcohol and cannabis as sleep aids, a risky behavior that can worsen health over time lead to substance dependence. Perceived norms for such behaviors are often overestimated related one's own use. This cross-sectional study examined: (a) the extent which college students prevalence of aids (i.e., perceived descriptive norms), (b) were associated with students' aids. Methods 2,642 undergraduate (Mage = 18.84 years) reported past 30-day aids. Participants also estimated percent who norms). Results One-sample t-tests revealed participants, on average, using endorsed these substances an even greater extent. Count regression models showed sleeps in respective models, when controlling difficulties. Conclusions College overestimate believe more normative report frequent Taken together, findings highlight potential norm-correcting strategies prudent approach reducing/preventing

Objective: There is an increasing amount of evidence exploring the adverse effects perceived stress or anxiety and depression independently on sleep quality during COVID-19 outbreak, although underlying mechanisms are unclear. The aim current study was to explore role as a potential mediator between among health care workers. Methods: Data were collected through online survey using snowball sampling method comprised 588 workers in Zhejiang Hubei provinces, China, from February March 2020. We administered Sleep Quality Questionnaire (SQQ), Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), Patient Health (PHQ-4) sociodemographic characteristics COVID-19-related questionnaire. Structural equation modelling (SEM) used examine direct indirect relationships stress, depression, quality. Results: average scores for 16.01 (95% CI [15.40, 16.57]) 15.46 [15.05, 15.87]), respectively. positive rates symptom tests 9.86% 10.37%, SEM results indicated that original relationship beta = 0.52 ( P < 0.001) reduced 0.25 0.045) while introducing mediating variables. positively associated with (beta 0.78, 0.014), 0.42, 0.001). Conclusion: Poor high common crisis. Background: To date, evidence about sleep disturbances among post-COVID-19 patients is limited. This study aimed to evaluate quality after hospitalization due SARS-CoV-2 infection. Methods: In-person follow-up was conducted in with prior COVID-19 1(Τ1), 3(Τ2), and 6 (Τ3) months hospital discharge. Patients were asked complete questionnaires concerning quality: the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), Athens Insomnia (AIS), Fatigue Severity (FSS), Stop-BANG (S-B) questionnaire. Results: In total, 133 enrolled (mean age: 56.0 ± 11.48 years, 59.4% males). The most frequently reported comorbidity arterial hypertension (29.8% of patients), while 37.4% had no comorbidities. majority participants exhibited poor (global PSQI ≥ 5) at T1 (84.3%), T2 (75.7%), T3 (77.4%). observed 56.5%, 53.5%, 39.2% participants, respectively (AIS 6). An FSS score 4 51.2%, 33.7%, 29.1% T1, T2, T3, respectively. Elapsed time found be negatively independently associated global PSQI, C5-Sleep disturbance, C7-Daytime dysfunctions, FSS, AIS adjustment for possible confounders. No significant difference between groups good (based on PSQI) respect gender (p = 0.110), age 0.528), BMI 0.816), smoking status 0.489), 0.427), severity disease 0.224), Charlson Comorbidity 0.827), or length stay 0.162). Participants excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) severe fatigue (FSS 4) significantly younger. Females presented a higher rate insomnia symptoms (55.7% vs. 44.3%, p < 0.001). Conclusions: Several discharge pneumonia certain points; However, improvement over remarkable domains assessed questionnaires.

Due to the prolonged inflammatory process induced by infection of novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), indices autonomic nervous system dysfunction may persist long after viral shedding. Previous studies showed significant changes in HRV parameters (including fatal) SARS-CoV-2. However, few have comprehensively examined individuals who previously presented as asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic cases COVID-19. In this study, we 5-7 weeks following positive confirmation SARS-CoV-2 infection. Sixty-five ECG Holter recordings from young (mean age 22.6 ± 3.4 years), physically fit male subjects 4-6 second negative test (considered be start recovery) and twenty-six control 23.2 2.9 years) were considered study. Night-time RR time series extracted signals. Selected linear well nonlinear calculated. We found differences Porta's symbolic analysis V0 V2 (p < 0.001), α2 very low-frequency component (VLF; p = 0.022) peak (from PRSA method; 0.012). These caused activity parasympathetic coupling rhythm with heart rate due an increase pulmonary arterial vascular resistance. The results suggest that group parameters, reflect functional state system, are measurable a beginning recovery even post-COVID group-a active population. indicate sensitive markers which used long-term monitoring patients recovery.

Abstract Aim The aim of this study was to identify the influencing factors sleep disorders and quality in healthcare workers during COVID‐19 pandemic. Design Systematic review meta‐analysis observational research. Methods databases Cochrane Library, Web Science, PubMed, Embase, SinoMed database, CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP were systematically searched. studies assessed using Agency for Healthcare Research Quality evaluation criteria Newcastle–Ottawa scale. Results A total 29 included, which 20 cross‐sectional studies, eight cohort 1 a case–control study; 17 finally identified. Greater risk disturbance associated with female gender, single relationship status, chronic disease, insomnia history, less exercise, lack social support, frontline work, days served department service, night shift, years work experience, anxiety, depression, stress, received psychological assistance, worried about being infected, degree fear COVID‐19. Conclusions During pandemic, did have worse than general population. are multifaceted. Identification timely intervention resolvable particularly important preventing improving sleep.
