In the past, wounds were treated with natural materials, but modern wound dressings include functional elements to expedite process of healing and improve skin recovery. Due their exceptional properties, nanofibrous are now most cutting-edge desirable option. Alzheimer’s disease, characterized by a decline in cognitive functions, is frequently associated with decreased levels of acetylcholine due to the overactivity acetylcholinesterase (AChE). Inhibiting AChE has been key therapeutic strategy treating yet search for effective inhibitors, particularly from natural sources, continues their potential fewer side effects. In this context, three new alkaloids—oleracone L, portulacatone B, and portulacatal—extracted Portulaca oleracea L., have recently shown promising anticholinesterase activity vitro. However, no experimental or computational studies explored binding potential. Various nanostructures and vehicle systems, such as polymer nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), nanoliposomes, nano-micelles, lipid lactoferrin, polybutylcyanoacrylate, poly lactic-co-glycolic acid, have been shown to enhance drug efficacy, reduce side effects, improve pharmacokinetics. NDs affect millions worldwide are challenging treat due blood-brain barrier (BBB), which hinders delivery central nervous system (CNS).
