Social media offer a wide range of advantages, but excessive usage can result in negative, psychological and behavioral consequences, including addiction. Despite growing attention paid to exploring the benefits as well negative consequences of social media use, we know less about background variables involved in addiction. Therefore, aim this study was investigate several potential contributors addiction media, namely, self-esteem, fear evaluation, sensation seeking and five personality variables. The participants online survey were Hungarian university students (N = 250, aged between 18 35 years; 59.2% female). Females scored higher on scale [t(248) −2.42, p < 0.05]. findings showed that (a) evaluation positively predicted (β 0.28, 0.001) (b) self-esteem −0.23, 0.01) conscientiousness −0.14, 0.05) negatively sample young adults. Additionally, correlated with emotional stability [r (250) −0.38, 0.001] extraversion; however, these not significant predictors multivariate analysis. These suggest people should learn how carefully use Internet settings, e.g., courses digital devices be accessible all students.

Abstract TikTok is a pervasive and controversial social media platform with sizeable adolescent following. Using two‐wave longitudinal design spaced 3 months apart during the academic year ( N = 328, 60.4% male, M age 16.99), we investigated how adolescents' self‐concept clarity relates to approval anxiety, fear of missing out, online vigilance as possible stressors experienced on TikTok. Results showed negative bidirectional link between anxiety. We also found unidirectional association out (FoMO) vigilance, respectively. Last, that anxiety longitudinally fosters out. These findings suggest adolescents holding uncertain self‐views are more likely perceive stressful environment experiencing might be especially harmful for them.

<p>This study aims to investigate the effect of peer pressure on adolescent aggression with self-esteem as a moderator. Data in this regression quantitative were collected through online self-report using questionnaires from junior high school adolescents (N=348) whose ages ranged 12-15 years old. analyzed Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The research subjects completed instrument, namely Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire Scale (BPAQ), Peer Pressure Inventory (PPI), and Rosenberg Self-Esteem (RSES). results showed that had significant positive aggression, but did not serve moderator relationship. findings more often received pressure, higher level involvement aggressive behavior their group.
