Since
2000s,
we
have
outlined
the
multifaceted
role
of
inflammation
in
several
aspects
cancer,
via
specific
inflammatory
mediators,
including
platelet
activating
factor
(PAF)
and
PAF-receptor
(PAFR)
related
signaling,
which
affect
important
junctions
cellular
interactions
that
are
associated
with
tumor-related
manifestations.
It
is
now
well
established
disease-related
unresolved
chronic
responses
can
promote
carcinogenesis.
At
same
time,
tumors
themselves
able
to
their
progression
metastasis,
by
triggering
an
inflammation-related
vicious
cycle,
PAF
its
signaling
play
crucial
role(s),
usually
conclude
tumor
growth
angiogenesis.
In
parallel,
new
evidence
suggests
also
interact
cancer
treatments
inducing
antitumor
immune
response
or,
conversely,
promoting
recurrence.
Within
this
review
article,
current
knowledge
future
perspectives

all
these
thoroughly
re-assessed.

The Wine Quality of Merlot Relies in Irrigation Supplementation and Spotlights Sustainable Production Constraints in Mediterranean‐Type Ecosystems

Background
and
Aims
.
The
Mediterranean
climate
has
been
traditionally
favorable
for
winemaking
irrigation
practice
historically
avoided
even
forbidden,
but
current
productive
scenarios
are
suffering
radical
changes
because
of
global
warming.
Therefore,
seeking
sustainable
approaches
to
improve
water
availability
is
key
obtaining
high‐quality
wines
maintain
its
style,
without
affecting
yields.
Methods
Results
Here,
we
aim
evaluate
the
effect
in
Merlot
vineyards,
on
grapes
production
quality,
also
wine
acceptability.
Field‐grown
grapevines
from
cv.
“Merlot”
were
subjected
two
different
supplies
field:
(i)
nonirrigated
plants
(ii)
irrigated
with
50%
crop
evapotranspiration,
veraison
commercial
harvest.
We
assessed
stress
markers
such
as
leaf
relative
content,
hydration,
maximum
efficiency
photosystem
II
photochemistry,
well
grape
quality
parameters,
acceptability,
preference
a
panel
composed
100
participants.
Furthermore,
performed
systematic
review
study
comparison,
including
9
published
reports
regimes,
oriented
decisions,
yield,
and/or
quality.
showed
that
half
supply
not
only
induced
an
increase
volume
weight
grapes,
resulting
had
lower
total
acidity
more
desirable
chromatic
properties,
increasing
colour
intensity
hue,
decreasing
brightness.
Sensory
analysis
revealed
63%
untrained
preferred
treatment.
Integrating
previously
reported
data,
it
observed
scarcity
when
compared
fully
vineyards.
Conclusions
It
concluded
can
be
enough
under
conditions,
yield
components
enhancing
sensory
characteristics
acceptance
by
consumers.
