Objectives. Despite substantial healthcare spending in the United States, health outcomes for low socioeconomic status populations remain less than general population. This disparity is significantly influenced by social determinants of (SDOH), such as income, education, and environment. study delved into influence SDOH on life expectancy gap between two Florida counties, Collier (with high expectancy) Marion expectancy). Examining these contrasting counties aims to identify how contributed this disparity. Methods. comprehensive quantitative analysis considered three key areas: demographics, SDOH, internal external factors death longevity. Demographic data average were collected converted z scores. Linear regression was deployed understand relationship demographic variables. The scores from latest Health Charts (n.d.) used a linear determine each county influences years potential lost (YPLL). approach aimed reveal characteristics counties. Survey Results. revealed robust correlation causes (chronic diseases), which impact expectancy. explain portion variation YPLL both However, association requires further investigation. While positive existed, it lacks statistical significance, suggesting involvement other factors. These findings underscore importance addressing policies practices reduce gap. Conclusions. clear County has higher median diverse population, excellent working-age Conversely, County, with lower diversity, younger more children, risk chronic diseases highlighted understanding variations emphasized need targeted interventions address improve across communities.

Abstract The ability to reprogram patient-derived-somatic cells IPSCs (Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells) has led a better understanding of aging and age-related diseases like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s. established patient-derived disease models mimic pathology can be used design drugs for diseases. However, the age genetic mutations donor cells, employed reprogramming, differentiation protocol might often pose challenges in establishing an appropriate model. In this review, we will focus on various strategies successful reprogramming diseases, emphasizing accuracy recapitulation ways overcome limitations its potential application cell replacement therapy drug development.

Autoimmune diseases (ADs) are one of the groups chronic illnesses that impose a significant burden disease and health costs worldwide. Age is crucial risk factor for onset ADs. Theoretically, it inferred with organic immune system aging, loss tolerance specificity activity becomes more intense, probability autoimmunity increasing. However, there group individuals whose prevalence ADs very low or non-existent, despite biological aging. This paradox in raises questions. Centenarians, who over 100 years old, possibly most successful model aging humans. Most these exhibit favorable phenotype. To date, primary data evidence potential hypotheses explaining this phenomenon lacking globally, even though could provide valuable, original, relevant information regarding understanding protective factors, drivers, biomarkers related to autoimmunity. Herein we discuss some hypothesis may explain absence centenarians, including inflammaging, immunosenescence resilience, hyperstimulation, proteodynamics, genetics.

Pyriproxyfen, a juvenile hormone analog (JHA), is considered as reduced-risk alternative to synthetic pesticides for crop protection. It has been frequently used in agriculture and public health manage insect pests. However, recent studies have reported that pyriproxyfen may adverse physiological effects on non-target organisms. This study investigated the of sublethal doses endocrine disrupting insecticide Drosophila melanogaster Meigen (Diptera: Drosophilidae) biological model. Results showed had noticeable effect developmental stages individuals exposed generation. Pyriproxyfen treatment significantly shortens adult longevity both sexes, female male. Finally, these results suggest reproduction capacity D. impacted by reducing number progeny after parent’s generation with pyriproxyfen. These research findings indicate exposure induces affects offspring growth rates insects Drosophila.

Understanding the determinants of life expectancy (LE) is essential for effective policy planning and enhancing public health in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This study aims to elucidate complex interactions among sociodemographic (SD), macroeconomic (ME), resource (HR) factors that influence LE GCC We employed a Meta-Analytic Structural Equation Modeling develop comparative model across six countries using annual data from 1990 2020. The pairwise comparison utilized Partial Least Squares Multi-Group Analysis, allowing us examine differences SD, ME, HR influences on Our analysis highlighted ME directly impact all examined. observed significant mediation effects where SD influenced or HR, affecting LE. Notably, final comparisons revealed was particularly significant, with effect sizes ranging 0.2679 (p = 0.0018) Oman-Kuwait 0.6686 < 0.0001) Emirate-Saudi comparison. Furthermore, while consistently each model, their impacts did not show variations between pairing. Generally, findings highlight critical need strengthen integrated framework rather than relying solely improvements. Specifically, importance tailoring policies address specific contexts within enhance effectively. insights gained our could significantly inform targeted initiatives provide valuable reference future research similar settings.

Studying aging now requires going beyond the bio-psycho-social model and incorporating a broader multidisciplinary view capable of capturing ultimate complexity being human that is expressed as individuals age. Current demographic trends lengthening life expectancies allow observation long-lived in full health. These super-agers are no longer an exception. Indeed, can have good quality even over age 70 living with chronic or neurodegenerative diseases. This change driven part by cohort effect observed people who about to today (e.g., better schooling, more advanced health conditions, technologization) but so gradual overcoming ageist views. An aged person seen quitter rather one empowered direct their own trajectory potentially healthy longevity. According this vision, article proposes situated lifespan perspective for study integrates pedagogical models developmental ecology psychological theories optimal experience understand individual motivational on aging. At same time, it does not disregard analyzing daily cultural contexts which everyone situates guide trajectories. Nor forget body-mind (embodied) organisms that, through motivations, seize opportunities action (affordances) evolve way during lifespan. theoretical reflection sheds new light process future longevity research.
