Polygonatum is a traditional medicinal and edible plant often prepared by steaming it with ingredients like yellow rice wine black beans. However, the metabolic changes in kingianum (PK) during method beans have not been previously reported. This study aims to explore how addition of degree affect quality PK. quantified polysaccharides, reducing sugars, saponins, flavonoids PK subjected varied cycles, while also integrating color measurement, sensory evaluation, non-targeted metabolomics analysis. rich lipids, amino acids, flavonoids, organic acids. Notably, we observed production significant accumulation daidzein daidzin (two primary active compounds derived from beans) as well triterpenoid saponins (including Sandosaponin A, Soyasaponin II-III, V, Pisumsaponin I-II) steamed (p < 0.05). After three multiple bioactive levels peaked or stabilized, which was consistent (score: 94/100). Compared raw PK, P3 stage exhibited increases total 21.29, 35.02, 49.13, 44.76%, respectively 0.05), sugars showed remarkable increase 160.94-fold 0.01), polysaccharides decreased significantly 43.33% 0.01). provides first evidence that can synergistically diversity isoflavones optimal achieved after rounds steaming. These findings validate scientific efficacy processing method. Our results advocate for continued use bean enhance nutritional health-promoting value providing template innovation herbal techniques based on auxiliary ingredients.

Abstract This review highlights the increasing interest in one of natural compounds called saponins, for their potential therapeutic applications addressing inflammation which is a key factor various chronic diseases. It delves into molecular mechanisms responsible anti‐inflammatory effects these amphiphilic compounds, prevalent plant‐based foods and marine organisms. Their structures vary with soap‐like properties influencing historical uses traditional medicine sparking renewed scientific interest. Recent research focuses on inflammatory diseases, unveiling actions such as NF‐κB MAPK pathway regulation COX/LOX enzyme inhibition. Saponin‐containing sources like Panax ginseng soybeans suggest novel therapies. The explores emerging role shaping gut microbiome, composition activity, contributing to effects. Specific examples, notoginseng Gynostemma pentaphyllum , illustrate intricate relationship between collective impact immune metabolic health. Despite promising findings, emphasizes need further comprehend behind interactions underscoring crucial balanced microbiome optimal health positioning saponins dietary interventions managing conditions.

Recent research on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) saponin pharmacokinetics has revealed transformative breakthroughs and challenges. The multicomponent nature of TCM makes it difficult to select representative indicators for pharmacokinetic studies. clinical application saponins is limited by their low bioavailability short half-life, resulting in fluctuating plasma concentrations. Future directions should focus novel compounds utilizing colon-specific delivery osmotic pump systems enhance oral bioavailability. Optimizing drug combinations, such as ginsenosides with aspirin, shows therapeutic potential. Rigorous validation essential practical applications. This review emphasizes a era research, highlighting the need validation. pharmacokinetics, guided principles, are development, multidisciplinary approaches comprehensive understanding. provides theoretical basis new drugs supports rational medication.

Yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis) is a forest species consumed in the form of non-alcoholic beverages South America, with applications foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries. The leaves are globally recognized for their important bioactive compounds, including, saponins. We adjusted vanillin-acid sulfuric method determining spectrophotometrically total saponin yerba leaves. Seeking to maximize extraction saponins from leaves, Doehlert design combined Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was used, considering ethanol:water ratios ultrasound times. In addition, same methodology used analysis times temperatures vanillin-sulfuric acid reaction heating. contents mature were compared four clones. maximized using 40 % ethanol:60 water 60 minutes assisted (UAE) without For conditions, 70 °C 10 heating recommended, UV/Vis reading 460 680 nm. Antinutrients, also known as anti-nutritional factors (ANFs), are compounds found in many plant-based foods that can limit the bioavailability of nutrients or act precursors to toxic substances. ANFs have controversial effects on human health, depending mainly their concentration. While positive these well documented, dangers they pose and approaches avoid them not been discussed same extent. There is no dispute negatively alter absorption vitamins, minerals, proteins addition inhibiting some enzyme activities, thus affecting body. This review discusses chemical properties, plant bioavailability, deleterious anti-minerals (phytates oxalates), glycosides (cyanogenic saponins), polyphenols (tannins), proteinaceous (enzyme inhibitors lectins). The focus this study possibility controlling amount ANF food through fermentation. An overview most common biochemical pathways for microbial reduction provided, showing genetic basis phenomena, including active enzymes, optimal conditions action, data regulation synthesis.
