Recently, there has been increased interest in research the direction of measuring and analyzing surface textures. This is due to emergence new processing methods that form anisotropic structures products, primarily additive manufacturing. One important complex tasks areal filtering measurement results. In this study, the connection between total strain energy density and fracture surface topography is investigated in additively manufactured maraging steel exposed to low-cycle fatigue loading. The specimens were fabricated using laser beam powder bed fusion (LB-PBF) examined under fully-reversed strain-controlled setup at amplitudes scale from 0.3% 1.0%. post-mortem surfaces explored a non-contact 3D measuring system entire method. focus on relationship characteristics, expressed by density, features, represented areal, volume, fractal dimension factors. The objectives of this study were to investigate the fracture surface topography X8CrNiS18-9 austenitic stainless-steel specimens for different loadings and notch radii supplement knowledge about mechanisms fatigue performance. Processes of surface texture characterisation can be roughly divided into measurement issues and analysis the results obtained. Both actions fraught with various errors, some which analysed frequency performance. In this paper, types topographies were studied, e.g., cylinder liners after plateau-honing process, plateau-honed additionally burnished dimples sizes (width depth), turned, milled, ground, laser-textured, ceramic, composite general isotropic topographies, respectively. They measured a stylus or via optical (white light interferometry) methods. frequency-based methods, proposed in often applied measuring equipment, power spectral density, autocorrelation function analysis. All methods supported by regular (commonly used) algorithms, filters (robust) Gaussian, median, spline Fast Fourier Transform performance, The main purpose paper was to use techniques for improvement detection reduction processes regarding influence high-frequency noise on measurements. Precise characterisation of surface topography is the greatest importance since many factors directly affect accuracy whole measurement process. In this paper, variety topographies from machined composite and ceramic workpieces was studied with a special emphasis on results. Surfaces were subjected to ground diamond, honing milling processes. Measurement results analysed in terms application procedure for removal high-frequency noise. Bandwidth characteristics supported by studies autocorrelation power spectral functions. It found, that examination noisy data, especially its isotropic properties, crucial enhancement noise-removal methods. Characterization of surface topography, roughly divided into measurement and data analysis, can be valuable in the process validation tribological performance machined parts. In this paper, the application of an Autocorrelation Function for characterisation surface topography was validated. The roughness evaluation turned composite surfaces supported by sophisticated studies properties, considering especially shape function. Details were measured with optical method. selection procedures carried out based on both profile and areal analyses. Moreover, various types regular analysis methods, proposed in commercial software, like Gaussian regression robust functions, median de-noising, isotropic Spline, fast Fourier transform filters, parameters from ISO 25178 standards.
