This study proposes a novel colorimetric method based on the ultraviolet/visible spectrophotometry-colorimetric (UV/Vis-CM) for detecting and quantifying total triterpenoids in traditional Chinese medicine. Ginsenoside Rg3, isolated from Panax ginseng, has anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor activities.
