Abstract Background: The primary objective of this randomized controlled trial (RCT) is to establish the effectiveness time-restricted eating (TRE) compared with Mediterranean diet for people bipolar disorder (BD) who have symptoms sleep disorders or circadian rhythm sleep-wake disruption. This work builds on growing evidence that TRE has benefits improving rhythms. and guidance will be offered remotely using self-help materials an app, coaching support. Methods: study international RCT compare diet. Three hundred participants recruited primarily via social media. Main inclusion criteria are: receiving treatment a diagnosis BD I II (confirmed MINI structured diagnostic interview), endorsement problems, self-reported window ≥ 12 hours, no current mood episode, acute suicidality, disorder, psychosis, alcohol substance use other health conditions would interfere limit safety following dietary guidance. Participants asked complete baseline daily food logging two weeks then randomly allocated follow 8 weeks, during which time, they continue logging. Intervention content delivered app. Symptom severity interviews conducted at baseline; mid-intervention (4 after intervention begins); end intervention; 3, 6, months postintervention by phone videoconference. Self-rated symptom quality life data gathered those timepoints, as well 6 postintervention. To provide more refined index whether successfully decreases emotional lability improves sleep, diary (core CSD) each morning six assessments per day eight days again mid-intervention. Discussion: planned research novel important information beneficial than reducing in individuals also experience problems. Trial registration: ClinicalTrials.gov : ID: 2022-10-15725. Time-restricted feeding (TRF, animal-based studies) and time-restricted eating (TRE, humans) are an emerging behavioral intervention approach based on the understanding of role circadian rhythms in physiology metabolism. In this approach, all calorie intake is restricted within a consistent interval less than 12 hours without overtly attempting to reduce calories. This article will summarize origin TRF/TRE starting with concept chronic rhythm disruption increasing risk for metabolic diseases. Circadian usually perceived as sleep-wake cycle dependent arising from central nervous system. However, recent discovery peripheral organs plasticity these response changes nutrition availability raised possibility that adopting daily short window can sustain robust rhythm. Preclinical animal studies have demonstrated proof identified potential mechanisms driving TRF-related benefits. Pilot human reported promising results reducing obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular Epidemiological indicated maintaining long overnight fast, which similar TRE, significantly risks Despite early successes, more clinical mechanistic needed implement TRE alone or adjuvant lifestyle prevention management

Aims: To evaluate the effectiveness of a dual approach involving time-restricted eating (TRE) at different times day combined with physical activity (PA) on functional capacity and metabolic health in overweight or obese women. Methods: Random allocation sixty-one participants into four groups: early plus (ETRE-PA, n = 15, 31.8 ± 10.76 years, 89.68 13.40 kg, 33.5 5.53 kg/m2), late (LTRE-PA, 30.60 7.94 94.45 15.36 34.37 7.09 only (LTRE, 27.93 9.79 88.32 10.36 32.71 5.15 kg/m2) control group (CG, 36.25 11.52 89.01 11.68 33.66 6.18 kg/m2). The intervention lasted for 12 weeks all groups. Both ETRE-PA LTRE-PA groups engaged rigorous aerobic resistance-training program. Results: Significant reductions body weight mass index were observed compared to CG LTRE post-intervention (p < 0.0005). Only exhibited significant decrease fat 0.02), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol 0.01), aspartate aminotransferase 0.002). alanine levels 0.004) 0.02) These two latter achieved higher performances 6-min walking test, bench press, 30-s squat, crunch vertical jump 0.0005 both), leg extension 0.02 both) when Conclusion: integration TRE PA leads greater improvements composition, lipid profile, performance, no differences between approaches. This strategy offers promising solution

Time-restricted feeding (TRF) and Ramadan fasting (RF) have been recently associated with several health outcomes. However, it is not yet clear if they are superior to existing treatments in terms of glucose metabolism, insulin action, weight loss. This review aims summarize the current data on effects these regimes body weight, composition, glycemia. An electronic search was conducted PUBMED SCOPUS databases up August 2022. Twenty-four records met inclusion criteria underwent a risk-of-bias assessment. The main outcomes were: (a) TRF may result moderate loss individuals overweight/obesity; when combined caloric restriction, >5% initial (b) 14 h be as effective 16 loss, (c) lead improved sensitivity glycemic responses/variability throughout day overweight/obesity. Concerning RF, only two studies were available thus, conclusions drawn. an nutritional approach for amelioration control more long-term, well-designed needed.

Due to its simplicity, time-limited eating (TLE) may represent a more feasible approach for treating adolescents with obesity compared other caloric restriction regimens. This pilot study examines the feasibility and safety of TLE combined continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in adolescents. Fifty BMI ≥95th percentile were recruited complete 12-week study. All received standard nutritional counseling, wore CGM daily, randomized to: (1) Prolonged window: 12 h eating/12 fasting + blinded CGM; (2) (8 eating/16 fasting, 5 days per week) (3) real-time feedback. Recruitment, retention, adherence recorded as indicators feasibility. Weight loss, dietary intake, physical activity, behaviors, quality life over course intervention explored secondary outcomes. Forty-five participants completed (16.4 ± 1.3 years, 64% female, 49% Hispanic, 75% public insurance). There was high prescribed windows (TLE 5.2 d/wk [SD 1.1]; control 6.1 1.4]) daily wear (5.85 4.8]). Most (90%) assigned reported that limiting their window wearing without negative impact on functioning or adverse events. no between-group difference terms weight energy life, behaviors. appears safe among obesity. Further investigation larger samples, longer duration follow-up assessments are needed.

Obesity and the associated metabolic syndrome is considered a pandemic whose prevalence steadily increasing in many countries worldwide. It complex, dynamic, multifactorial disorder that presages development of several metabolic, cardiovascular, neurodegenerative diseases, increases risk cancer. In patients with newly diagnosed cancer, obesity worsens prognosis, recurrence decreasing survival. The multiple negative effects on cancer outcomes are substantial, great clinical importance. Strategies for weight control have potential utility both prevention efforts enhancing outcomes. Presently, time-restricted eating (TRE) popular dietary intervention involves limiting consumption calories to specific window time without any proscribed caloric restriction or alteration composition. As such, TRE sustainable long-term behavioral modification, when compared other interventions, has shown health benefits animals humans. preliminary data regarding feeding growth animal models promising but studies humans lacking. Interestingly, short-term randomized trials favorable reduce factors; however, yet investigate reductions incidence general population. Few been conducted populations, number underway examine effect biology recurrence. Given simplicity, feasibility, improvements elicited by obese men women, may be useful survivors; implementation setting will require greater in-depth investigation.
