Background: Malnutrition is one of the major problems during stay in intensive care units (ICUs). Critically ill patients are at high risk developing malnutrition, associated with worse clinical outcomes. This work aimed to detect severity malnutrition critically by using Subjective Global Assessment score (SGA) and its association length ICU mortality. Methods: prospective cohort observational study was carried out on 50 aged >18 years old, both sexes, criteria involuntary weight loss, low body mass index, decreased muscles, history food intake or absorption inflammation acute disease injury severe inflammation. All were subjected mid-arm circumference (MAC), triceps skin fold (TSF) hand grip strength . Results: The mean 13.5±11.2 days. 18 needed mechanical ventilation (MV) representing 36% cases days 10.7±7.1, mortality proportion 34%. A statistically substantial correlation existed between mortality, smaller MAC (P = 0.001), TSF 0.001). In addition, Handgrip lower but didn't reach statistical significance 0.091). advanced grade SGA (grade C) Conclusions: There a strong fold, MAC. Severe significantly need for MV

The objective of this study is to examine gender disparities in body satisfaction perception, emphasizing the influence nutritional habits, psychometric assessments, levels physical activity, and health-related metrics. Employing a sample 605 strength-trained participants (385 males 224 females), aged between 20 35 years, regularly engaged strength training, we conducted thorough analysis using Google Forms. We evaluated variables including age, anthropometric data, resistance training frequency, food consumption patterns, psychological profiles. Our findings indicate significant gender-based differences perception. Females tend overestimate their muscular size express heightened concern regarding gluteal shape, while exhibit more realistic self-perception, primarily focused on hip width. Dietary patterns also display gender-specific tendencies; females prefer healthier options like vegetables, whereas consume milk, fermented products, carbohydrates. Hydration practices diverge as well, with showing higher water intake contrast males’ preference for alcoholic carbonated beverages. Psychologically, demonstrate greater extroversion, conscientiousness, openness, tendency toward negative thoughts anxiety. Regarding engage sessions volume compared males. This highlights intricate interplay social, cultural, personal factors shaping perceptions subsequent impact health lifestyle choices. These insights pave way future specialized interventions research, underscoring importance understanding nuances promote healthy self-perception.

Research from Western countries, such as the US, Canada, Australia, Europe, shows that is associated with an increased trend of anorexia nervosa (AN) among children adolescents. However, after in Eastern including Japan, not well-understood, it remains unclear whether these countries. This study aimed to examine association between newly diagnosed AN adolescents Japan. Materials Methods: Using nationwide multi-hospital database we analyzed clinical outpatient data departments pediatrics, psychosomatic medicine, psychiatry. participants comprised aged 7–19 years January 2017 2022. An interrupted time series analysis was used compare trends before pandemic. Estimating changes over performed using a Poisson regression model. This study was conducted on 5 March 2024, by the Universidad Europea de Madrid. aims to explore how body image perceptions influence health behaviors and mental physical outcomes among a specific group of 605 young adults aged 20 35 engaged in strength training regimes. To measure these perceptions, Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire (MBSRQ) employed, an advanced tool that assesses multiple dimensions through its subscales, including feelings attractiveness, investment one's appearance, satisfaction with different areas. Participants were segmented into two groups based median split their self-reported image. The survey assessed diverse array variables, demographic details, physiological data, resistance routines, psychological attributes. In this revision, we consistently use term 'dietary habits' ensure clear uniform language when discussing eating patterns. Notable differences observed dietary habits exercise engagement, influenced significantly perceptions. Negative linked less healthy habits, diminished activity, worse outcomes, such as increased anxiety depression. Conversely, positive associated healthier more frequent better health. findings suggest interventions aimed at improving could be crucial for enhancing overall within demographic. Due non-representative nature group, conclusions are cautiously presented applicable only similar populations training. underscores need holistic strategies encourage improve both adults.
