Introduction Amid the growing global concern about obesity, young adults in South Korea are particularly affected, with 30.8% of people aged 19–34 classified as obese. Given urban-centric lifestyle Korean youth, understanding relationship between daily life activities and urban environment holds great promise for effective interventions. This study aims to explore obesity Seoul, a city known its highly accessible compact environment. The research questions interaction neighbourhood consider weight management an context. Methods analysis uses extended qualitative geographic information system approach district Seoul sample comprises (aged 19–34) residing area, recruitment targeting up 51 participants data saturation. A qualitative, multimethod combines descriptive spatiotemporal collection. Descriptive being collected, including in-depth interviews photographs food consumption. Spatial collection involves field observations, cognitive mapping mobile Global Positioning System tracking. Temporal is gathered through drawing round timetables, detailing their schedules. Data will entail thematic interview content data. For integrated analysis, pattern finding be used synthesise Ethics dissemination was approved by institutional review board National University on 11 July 2022. curation currently underway, results shared scientific community at international conferences peer-reviewed journals. We planning open seminar share our findings relevant policy-makers, organisations health professionals.

There are kinds obesity, ranging from simple sarcopenic obesity. main purpose intervening address decrease ultimate consequence obesity—namely, mechanism through which especially abdominal increases risk obesity-induced derangement health, leading development diseases non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, initiators vascular damage. In this review, I discuss influence various types how these increase disease risk.

The number of people with metabolic syndrome (MetS) is increasing worldwide, and many socioeconomic environmental factors contribute to this. authors investigated tangible trends in the prevalence MetS using 2001 2020 versions Korea National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). In these surveys, stratified multistage sampling designs were used approximate entire population. Blood pressure, waist circumference, lifestyle variables examined a standardized fashion. Metabolic biomarkers measured central laboratory operated by Korean government. age-adjusted increased significantly from 27.1% 33.2% 2020. It was more prevalent men (25.8%→40.0%) but did not change women (28.2%→26.2%). Among 5 components, proportions high glucose level large circumference substantially 17.9% 12.2% over 20 years, while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels significantly, resulting decrease low 20.4%. Caloric intake derived carbohydrates decreased 68.1% 61.3%, fat consumption 16.7% 23.0%. Notably, sugar-sweetened beverage showed an almost 4-fold increase 2007 2020, physical activity 2014 Glycemic dysregulation abdominal obesity key features contributing observed during past years. The brain, particularly the hypothalamus and brainstem, monitors integrates circulating metabolic signals, including gut hormones. Gut–brain communication is also mediated by vagus nerve, which transmits various gut-derived signals. Recent advances in our understanding of molecular gut–brain promote development next-generation anti-obesity medications that can safely achieve substantial lasting weight loss comparable to surgery. Herein, we comprehensively review current knowledge about central regulation energy homeostasis, hormones involved food intake, clinical data on how these have been applied drugs. Insight into axis may provide new therapeutic perspectives for treatment obesity diabetes.

Only few studies have investigated the role of probiotics in development obesity. We aimed to determine efficacy and safety an intake Lactobacillus plantarum K50 (LPK) on body fat lipid profiles people with This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, clinical trial involved 81 adults a mass index 25-30 kg/m2 who were assigned randomly diet including 4 × 109 colony-forming unit LPK or placebo. Changes fat, anthropometric parameters, biomarkers obesity compared using linear mixed-effect model. After 12 weeks treatment, weight, mass, abdominal area did not change significantly two groups. However, total cholesterol levels decreased from 209.4 ± 34.4 mg/dL 203.5 30.9 group, but increased 194.7 37.5 199.9 30.7 placebo group (P = 0.037). Similarly, triglyceride 135.4 115.8 114.5 65.9 significant difference between supplementation also tended decrease leptin It changed distribution gut microbiota significantly, increase L. Actinobacteria, both whose changes abundance correlated visceral adiposity, borderline significance. A 12-week consumption reduced favorable alterations microbiota, suggesting potential benefits for controlling blood profiles.

Metabolic/bariatric surgery is currently the most effective measure to treat morbid obesity and obesity-related comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes. It has proven not only in terms of short-term weight loss, but also maintaining lower body for several decades.Such loss improves patient quality life extends expectancy. It crucial patients understand likely results a given bariatric procedure so that they can make an informed decision about whether undergo surgery. The amount after metabolic/bariatric usually important outcome interest considering surgical treatment. It common primary endpoint healthcare providers.Patients undergoing want tangible realistic expectations how much could lose surgery, professionals need determine at each follow-up visit are on track reach their target provide timely intervention with insufficient or regain.Weight influenced by many clinical variables, including initial mass index, age, gender, ethnicity, surgery.A well-validated chronological prediction model would enable patient-centered counseling goal setting. This review summarizes compares publicly available models.

Obesity is a global health problem. The aim to analyze the effectiveness of machine learning models in predicting obesity classes and determine which model performs best classification. We used dataset with 2,111 individuals categorized into seven groups based on their body mass index, ranging from average weight class III obesity. Our classification were trained tested using demographic information like age, gender, eating habits without including height variables. study demonstrated that when information, can classify index. random forest provided highest performance scores among all this research. Machine methods have potential be more extensively effective efforts combat

From 2006 to 2015, overall rate decreased approximately 0.1% per year until 2015. Although, this trend was observed individuals aged 40 years or over, increased slightly 20-29 and 30-39 age groups, from 0.5 0.7 2.0 2.6 1,000 individuals, respectively. The proportion obese young with remarkably, 51.4% 72.4% Thus, need early identification weight-control strategies prevent diabetes.
