As the global population ages, it is critical to identify diets that, beyond preventing noncommunicable diseases, optimally promote healthy aging. Here, using longitudinal questionnaire data from Nurses' Health Study (1986–2016) and Professionals Follow-Up (1986–2016), we examined association of long-term adherence eight dietary patterns ultraprocessed food consumption with aging, as assessed according measures cognitive, physical mental health, well living 70 years age free chronic diseases. After up 30 follow-up, 9,771 (9.3%) 105,015 participants (66% women, mean = 53 (s.d. 8)) achieved For each pattern, higher was associated greater odds aging its domains. The ratios for highest quintile versus lowest ranged 1.45 (95% confidence interval (CI) 1.35–1.57; healthful plant-based diet) 1.86 CI 1.71–2.01; Alternative Healthy Eating Index). When threshold shifted 75 years, Index diet showed strongest an ratio 2.24 2.01–2.50). Higher intakes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, unsaturated fats, nuts, legumes low-fat dairy products were linked whereas trans sodium, sugary beverages red or processed meats (or both) inversely associated. Our findings suggest that rich in foods, moderate inclusion animal-based may enhance overall guiding future guidelines. In two cohorts followed associations different aging—encompassing health—were studied, identifying constituents lesser

The survey included six main sections: 9-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7), Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), 10-item Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), sociodemographic information, work information. Multiple logistic regression analyses applied to identify potential significantly for issues. methods compliant with STROBE checklist. To examine the associations between sleep duration, continuity, timing, and mortality using actigraphy among adults. Data were from a cohort of 88 282 adults (40-69 years) in UK Biobank that wore wrist-worn triaxial accelerometer for 7 days. Actigraphy data processed to generate estimates duration other characteristics including wake after onset (WASO), number 5-minute awakenings, midpoint onset/wake-up least active 5 hours (L5). linked outcomes with follow-up October 31, 2021. We implemented Cox models (hazard ratio, confidence intervals [HR, 95% CI]) quantify mortality. Models adjusted demographics, lifestyle factors, medical conditions. Over an average 6.8 years 2973 deaths occurred (1700 cancer, 586 CVD deaths). Overall was significantly associated risk all-cause (p < 0.01), cancer = 0.03) For example, when compared durations 7.0 hrs/d, hrs/d 29% higher (HR: 1.29 [1.09, 1.52]). WASO awakenings not Individuals L5 early or late midpoints (<2:30 ≥ 3:30) had ~20% mortality, those intermediate (3:00-3:29; p ≤ 0.01; e.g. HR 3:30: 1.19 [1.07, 1.32]). Shorter both timing risk. These findings reinforce importance public health efforts promote healthy patterns

Shift work interferes with circadian rhythms, affecting sleep quality and cognitive function. Poor in shift worker (SW)s can impair psychomotor performance due to fatigue sleepiness, increasing the risk of errors, accidents, reduced productivity. Given potential for atrophic changes hippocampus disturbances, our study investigates how poor correlates hippocampal structural alterations impacts among SWs.

INTRODUCTION: Health literacy is a cornerstone of prevention, while sex specific prevention cardiovascular disease, leading cause death women worldwide, remains less addressed and still more matter local cultural habits than guideline-directed management. METHODS: A validated multiple-choice questionnaire (MCQ) designed to both educate patients help the healthcare team learn about their traditional modern risk factors (RF) management, including opting for comprehensive personalized long term follow up (FU) was offered all in-patients. RESULTS: Out 130 hospitalized at our department (Jan 1, 2024 - Feb 24, 2024) who were fill in MCQ, 37.7% accepted do so, 11.5% excluded on ethical grounds. Women (49%) older men, had significant burden RF possessed higher levels knowledge interest RFs sexes, men especially those declined participate without clear reason even stated having no female relatives' profiles. Men, unlike women, showed particular tech-savvy options FU, although they equally use hand-held devices. CONCLUSION: These results confirm findings obtained from similar study conducted an all-female sample same setting year ago. However, surprising hostility exhibited towards junior mid-career which absent when approached by senior male member team. This confirms that misogyny needs be actively suppressed.
