Due to the adverse effects of erythropoietin (EPO) on cancer patient survival, it is necessary develop new agents that can be used efficiently manage and treat cancer-related anemia. In this study, novel distinctive carbon dots, J-CDs, derived from jujube are designed, synthesized, characterized. Based obtained results, material comprises sp2 sp3 atoms, as well oxygen/nitrogen-based groups, specifically promotes proliferation erythroid cells by stimulating self-renewal progenitor in vitro vivo. Moreover, J-CDs have no discernible tumor metastasis, unlike EPO. Transcriptome profiling suggests upregulate molecules involved hypoxia response, they also significantly increase phosphorylation levels STAT5, major transducer signals for cell proliferation. Overall, study demonstrates effectively promote erythrocyte production without affecting metastasis; thus, may promising treatment

Polydopamine nanoparticles (PDA NPs) are an appealing biomimetic photothermal agent for antibacterial treatment because of their long-term safety, excellent photostability, accessible manufacturing, and good biodegradability. However, the low conversion efficiency (PCE) PDA NPs requires high-power near-infrared light irradiation, which severely restricts practical application. In this work, PDA@Cu were fabricated by growing Cu in situ on surface then introduced into a polyelectrolyte hydrogel precursor (cationic polyethyleneimine/anionic pectin, named as CPAP). The formulated platform possessed high PCE (55.4%), almost twice much pure (30.8%). Moreover, designed CPAP/PDA@Cu captured killed some bacteria electrostatic adsorption, helped enhance performance. As expected, formed that combined advantageous features (high PCE) CPAP matrix (inherent activity preventing aggregation) can efficiently kill both vitro vivo under help laser irradiation. Taken together, study offers promising strategy constructing facile safe PDA-based therapy.

Near-infrared-II (NIR-II, 1000-1700 nm) light-triggered photothermal therapy (PTT) has been regarded as a promising candidate for cancer treatment, but PTT alone often fails to achieve satisfactory curative outcomes. Hollow nanoplatforms prove be attractive in the biomedical field owing merits including good biocompatibility, intrinsic physical-chemical nature and unique hollow structures, etc. On one hand, themselves can NIR-II agents (PTAs), cavities of which are able carry diverse therapeutic units realize multi-modal therapies. other PTAs capable decorating on surface combine with functions components encapsulated inside synergistic treatment. Notably, generally serve photoacoustic imaging (PAI) contrast (CAs), means such kind also expected multifunctional all-in-one nanotheranostics. In this review, recent advances single-modal PTT, dual-modal PTT/photodynamic (PDT), PTT/chemotherapy, PTT/catalytic PTT/gas well PTT/chemodynamic (CDT)/chemotherapy, PTT/chemo/gene PTT/PDT/CDT/starvation (ST)/immunotherapy summarized first time.
