Abstract An attempted aryl selenium-catalyzed formation of cis-chlorohydrins from alkenes was unsuccessful but led to an electrochemical investigation for the trans-selective chloroformyloxylation cyclic and acyclic in moderate good yields. Interestingly, when 1,1-disubstituted were used, corresponding vinyl chloride derivatives obtained, application 1-phenylcyclohex-1-ene allyl derivative.

Tetramethylthiuram disulfide (TMTD, thiram) is one of the most important fungicides and widely used in agriculture for seed treatment crop protection. TMTD produced by a number plants. Its annual sales are estimated at tens millions US dollars. Traditional chemical synthesis thiram accompanied formation significant amount waste, including inorganic salts, thioacids, polysulfides, etc. Herein, we report an advanced method its structural analogues production, which based on usage electric current as key participant. Such electrochemical approach avoids application oxidant required previous processes can be efficiently scaled up. All these characteristics make developed synthetic quite promising both economically ecologically.

This research introduces an eco‐friendly and innovative technique for efficiently producing p‐tolylmethanol derivatives 4(a–k) using electro‐organic synthesis based on the Grignard reaction. By employing electrochemical methods, this approach offers several advantages, including enhanced reaction efficiency reduced environmental impact. The process involves generation of reagent, followed by its with appropriate substrates to yield desired derivatives. Our team optimized various parameters like choice solvent, electrode material, conditions achieve high yields selectivity. developed method demonstrated outstanding presents a fresh environmentally conscious synthesizing from benzaldehyde 1(a–e) bromobenzene 2(a–h) via reaction, yielding excellent results (85–93%). resulting compounds were comprehensively characterized melting point, 1 H NMR spectroscopy, CHN analysis verify their structures. holds significant potential as sustainable strategy valuable organic compounds.
