Electrochemical bio-sensing is a potent and efficient method for converting various biological recognition events into voltage, current, impedance electrical signals. Biochemical sensors are now common part of medical applications, such as detecting blood glucose levels, food pathogens, specific cancers. As an exciting feature, bio-affinity couples, proteins with aptamers, ligands, paired nucleotides, antibodies antigens, commonly used bio-sensitive elements in electrochemical biosensors. Biotin-avidin interactions have been utilized purposes recent years, targeting drugs, diagnosing clinically, labeling immunologically, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, separating or purifying biomolecular compounds. The interaction between biotin avidin widely regarded one the most robust reliable noncovalent due to its high bi-affinity ability remain selective accurate under reaction conditions bio-molecular attachments. More recently, there numerous attempts develop sense circulating cancer cells measurement intracellular levels protein thiols, formaldehyde, vitamin-targeted polymers, huwentoxin-I, anti-human antibodies, variety tumor markers (including alpha-fetoprotein, epidermal growth factor receptor, prostate-specific Ag, carcinoembryonic antigen 125, 15-3, etc.). Still, non-specific binding endogenous biotin-binding present samples can result false-positive signals hinder detection biomarkers. This review summarizes categories biotin-functional nanoparticles designed detect biomarkers highlights some challenges using them diagnostic tools.

The increasing incidence of breast cancers (BCs) in the world population and their complexity high metastatic ability are serious concerns for healthcare systems. Despite significant progress medicine made recent decades, efficient treatment invasive still remains challenging. Chemotherapy, a fundamental systemic method, is burdened with severe adverse effects, efficacy limited by resistance development risk disease recurrence. Also, current diagnostic methods have certain drawbacks, attracting attention to idea developing novel, more sensitive detection therapeutic modalities. It seems solution these issues can be provided nanotechnology. Particularly, quantum dots (QDs) been extensively evaluated as potential targeted drug delivery vehicles and, simultaneously, sensing bioimaging probes. These fluorescent nanoparticles offer unlimited possibilities surface modifications, allowing attachment biomolecules, such antibodies or proteins, molecules, among others. In this work, we discuss applicability QDs cancer diagnostics light knowledge. We begin introducing molecular histopathological features BCs, standard regimens, methods. Further, QDs, along uptake, biodistribution patterns, cytotoxicity, described. Based on reports published years, present research possible QD use improving BC chemotherapeutic photosensitizing agents, stages development. also address limitations open questions regarding topic.

Cancer's profound impact on emotional well-being necessitates an exploration into the underlying psychological mechanisms influencing depression and anxiety in patients. In this study, we explored potential role of self-compassion, alexithymia, cognitive emotion regulation depressive symptoms among cancer A total 151 stage 4 patients participated. Instruments applied included Beck Depression Scale (BDS), Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Self-Compassion (SCS), Cognitive Emotion Regulation (CERQ), Toronto Alexithymia (TAS), Visual Analogue (VAS), Brief Psychological Resilience (BRS). The multivariate analysis utilizing independent variables-SCS, adaptive maladaptive CERQ, TAS subscales, BRS, VAS scores-accounted for 39% variance seen BDI (F (8142) = 11.539, p < 0.001). Notably, SCS, BRS had a negative predictive BDI. Our findings substantiate statistically significant partial mediatory resilience association between self-compassion depression. This research accentuates central resilience, play individuals diagnosed with cancer. Targeted therapeutic interventions focusing these dimensions may enhance health patients, ultimately improving overall treatment outcomes oncological setting.
