As an endangered species, the habitat of Cycas balansae (C. balansae) is subject to a variety impacts, including climate change and human activities, exploring its adaptive distribution conservation areas under such conditions crucial protecting ecological security species. In this study, we used MaxEnt model Marxan v4.0.6 systematically evaluate priority protection species C. balansae. The results showed that concentrated in Xishuangbanna surrounding zones southern Yunnan Province. main factors affecting were temperature seasonality, mean coldest quarter, isothermality, precipitation warmest among which was dominant factor. Under different scenarios future, area slight decrease, northward migration trend. future pattern closely related seasonality quarter. addition, influence anthropogenic disturbances on cannot be ignored. Currently, there large range vacancies for balansae, it recommended Simao City as area. This study provides new insights determining strategies

Abstract The islands of the Ryukyu archipelago in Japan are biologically diverse, supporting numerous plant and animal taxa found nowhere else. One most iconic plants is Cycas revoluta Thunb., only cycad native to Japan. At this moment, community researchers concerned about impacts caused by recent invasion aulacaspis scale ( Aulacaspis yasumatsui Takagi) into wild populations C. Amami‐Oshima Okinawa‐jima. Within last three decades, cycad‐specific has been inadvertently transported outside its range southeastern Asia known cause high mortality on both cultivated species that not evolutionarily ecologically adapted effects infestation. Currently, neither extent spread nor attendant ecological well characterized; thus, several recommendations mitigate potential threat proposed here. Monitoring impact pest evaluating use predators as biological control organisms for A. recommended. Considering already genetic diversity spatial structure , we recommend establishing situ ex colonies assure conservation composition case loss populations.

Climate change inevitably affects the geographical distribution of species on earth. Conifers, which are important components forest tree species, highly threatened and particularly sensitive to climate change. Approximately 23.6% (145/615 species) world's conifers native China, among 53 threatened. Thus, understanding impact richness endemic China (hereafter referred as conifers) is great importance. Here, we investigated habitat suitability under present conditions predicted future these using modeling. Combined with current natural reserve system, evaluated conservation effectiveness, determined key areas, proposed suggestions for protection conifers. Our results showed that were mainly distributed in mountainous areas variables played a major role We also found hotspots shrink move northward changing climate. The lowest elevation contract their range occurred below 1000 m or above 2000 m, while most whose elevations ranged from projected expand scenario. Therefore, different measures should be taken patterns. central Hengduan Mountains Western Sichuan Plateau identified "areas needing attention" worth exploring", respectively, given more attention field surveys efforts. This study highlighted critical good indicators measuring proposing strategies minimize impacts

Glyptostrobus pensilis is a critically endangered living fossil plant species of the Mesozoic era, with high scientific research and economic value. The aim this study was to assess impact climate change on potential habitat area G. in East Asia. MaxEnt (maximum entropy) model optimized by ENMeval data package used simulate distribution habitats since last interglacial period (LIG, 120–140 ka). results showed that has prediction accuracy under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) 0.9843 ± 0.005. Current highly suitable were found Northeast Jiangxi, Eastern Fujian Guangdong; main climatic factors affecting geographic are temperature precipitation, precipitation as factor. minimum coldest month (Bio6) may be key factor restricting northward pensilis; during LIG, it contracted greatly area. Mean Diurnal Range (Bio2), Minimum Temperature Coldest Month (Bio6), Annual Precipitation (Bio12) Driest Quarter (Bio9) important causing changes distribution. In next four periods, areas all migrated southward. Except for RCP2.6-2070s, other three periods varying degrees shrinkage. will provide theoretical basis management resource protection pensilis.

The evolutionary history of Yunnanopilia longistaminea, a vulnerable plant endemic to the Yuanjiang-Honghe River Valley in southwestern China, was investigated using cpDNA and nrDNA sequences along with ecological niche modeling. Understanding genetic diversity population structure Y. longistaminea is crucial for developing effective conservation strategies managing its resources. This study comprehensively sampled 295 individuals from 16 populations, which represent species’ entire global distribution range, ensuring thorough representative analysis structure. results revealed high structure, significant differentiation among populations. Specifically, total nucleotide 2.40 × 10−3 1.51 nrDNA, while haplotype 0.605 0.526 nrDNA. divergence time ancestral haplotypes estimated be around 2.19 million years ago based on 2.72 cpDNA. These times are comparable those other ancient species, suggesting long history. size found have significantly declined 30,000 ago. current model suggests that primarily inhabits warm temperate zone LGM predicts concentration species China. concludes region China may served as glacial refuge longistaminea. findings suggest establishing protected areas these regions creating gene banks ex situ could preserve Further research dynamics adaptation climate change valuable understanding conservation.
