Childhood maltreatment is associated with wide-ranging psychopathology at all stages of life. In the current study, we investigated whether posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) severity mediated association between childhood and internalizing externalizing disorders among 262 South African trauma-exposed adolescents (aged 12-18 years). PTSD symptom were assessed using Trauma Questionnaire Child Checklist, respectively. Psychiatric utilizing Kiddie-Schedule for Affective Disorders Schizophrenia-Present Lifetime version grouped into or disorders. Hierarchal logistic regression was used to assess subtype disorders, controlling age gender, added final model. We found that sexual abuse significantly although this effect no longer significant when model demonstrating Physical abuse, but not PTSD, emotional neglect, comorbid These findings have implications intervention prevention strategies targeted a history maltreatment.

This study investigated whether internalizing and externalizing behavioral problems in children were associated with fractional anisotropy of white matter tracts connecting other brain regions to the frontal lobes. We contrasted patterns association between born at term (FT) very preterm (PT: gestational age birth =< 32 weeks).

Abstract This study aimed to delineate profiles of self-regulation among sexually abused children and their association with behavior problems using a person-centered approach. A sample 223 aged six 12, parents, teachers were recruited in specialized intervention centers. Latent profile analysis revealed four profiles: (1) Dysregulated, (2) Inhibited, (3) Flexibly Regulated, (4) Parent Perceived Self-Regulation . Children from the Regulated showed relatively low problems, those Dysregulated characterized by high problems. overall good adaptation, although reported higher than parents. Inhibited profile, highest level inhibition but parent-rated emotion regulation competencies executive functions, internalizing indicating that does not necessarily translate better adaptation. Results also show moderation effect sex. Being assigned was associated decreased externalizing behaviors boys increased girls. underscores complexity supports need adopt multi-method multi-informant approach when assessing these children.

Background: Childhood trauma adversely impacts adolescents, and consequently, they develop behavioural problems. Understanding the distribution of childhood traumas their association with problems among adolescents is paramount for preventive efforts. Aim/Objective: The present research aimed to investigate this adolescents. Methods: This was investigated ( N = 200) between 12 18 years. Trauma Questionnaire Strength Difficulty used assess internalizing externalizing through purposive convenience sampling technique. Results: findings across indicated higher abuse neglect males as compared females. Males further significantly scored on sexual emotional neglect. Apparently, a large number experienced all five sub types (sexual abuse, physical neglect). Additionally, severity continuum traumas, male severe extreme subtypes except where females higher. Lastly, logistic regression analysis peer those who have traumas. Conclusion: These could be beneficial intervention-based programs policies help trauma-exposed cope lives.
