Abstract Background To assess the available evidence on whether nonsurgical periodontal treatment (NSPT) improves arterial stiffness outcomes in patients with periodontitis (PD). Methods Following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐analyses (PRISMA) guidelines population, intervention, comparison, outcomes, study design (PICOS) question, electronic databases were screened clinical interventional studies addressing impact of NSPT pulse wave velocity (PWV), carotid intima‐media thickness (CIMT), flow‐mediated dilatation (FMD) PD patients. Furthermore, research strategy was implemented using a hand search. Studies selected, data extracted by two independent reviewers.
