Various symmetric and non-symmetric polynorbornadienes having a variety of ester groups carboxyl were synthesized by ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) with Grubbs' third generation catalyst (G3 or [Ru]-III catalyst) in controlled living manner from half-esters prepared the selective monohydrolysis diesters that we previously reported. The thus obtained can be directly submitted to ROMP G3 catalyst, leading mostly trans structure narrow polydispersity indexes. subsequent hydrogenation yielded saturated polymers, improving thermostabilities according T5d results. Our reactions combined initiated have proven an efficient tool for production homopolymers well-controlled structures manner.

Catalytic olefin metathesis using Hoveyda-Grubbs-type ruthenium complexes is a powerful tool for creating complex molecules possessing variety of practically useful properties. This method also applied obtaining modern polymer materials from low-demand petroleum products. Among all containing five- or six-membered chelate rings, the commercially available HG-II catalyst most common. In addition, other complexes, which include Het→Ru donor-acceptor bond in ring, often exhibit activity equal to superior that HG-II. review considers second-generation N-heterocyclic carbene with bonds such as O→Ru, S→Ru, Se→Ru, N→Ru, P→Ru and Hal→Ru ring. Methods preparation, analysis stability catalytic are compared, examples application these organometallic derivatives synthesis relevant products provided. The literature 2010 2023 summarized, making this broad audience chemists working heterocyclic chemistry, well practitioners involved production catalysts polymers. In this work, Perylene diimide derivatives 1,7- POSS-PDI-C12 (PPC) were synthesized using 1,7-Br-PDI- C12, 18-crown-6 ether as phase transfer agent, K2CO3 catalyst and THF solvent in a reaction system. Subsequently, the POSS-SH group was successfully introduced into perylene imide bay site high yield. The chemical structure molecular weight of products characterized by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, MALDI-TOF MS FT-IR. self-assembly behavior different solvents studied research solution method. PPC remained single monomolecular state due to bulky POSS group, which large steric hindrance packing, leading weakening π–π interactions. Then, Composite thin films containing SBS prepared. do not exhibit significant force-chromic owing dispersion single- molecule states. This shows that construction mechanochromic materials, chromophore molecules need have certain degree aggregation matrix, but should be too high.
