This study investigated the effects of three different single-strain probiotics Lactiplantibacillus plantarum XD117, Lacticaseibacillus paracasei LC-37, and rhamnosus LGG, on quality hempseed fermented milk. The main findings were that adding increased inhibition rate α-glucosidase pancreatic lipase in milk significantly. Non-targeted metabolomic correlation analysis results confirmed 14 substances, including flavonoids, six amino acids their derivatives, five short peptides, positively correlated with hypoglycemic hypolipidemic activities Furthermore, a total 59 volatile flavor compounds identified, aldehydes, alcohols, ketones, acids, esters, role mapping probiotic communities was provided. These can guide development unique flavor, rich content, significant functional characteristics.

Flavonoids, a class of polyphenolic compounds, are widely distributed in plant-based foods and have been recognized for their potential to promote overall health well-being. Flavonoids fruits vegetables offer various beneficial effects such as anti-aging, anticancer, anti-inflammatory properties. extensively studied neuroprotective properties, which attributed ability cross the blood-brain barrier interact with neural cells. Factors like gut microbiota composition, age, genetics, diet can impact how well flavonoids absorbed gut. The enhance absorption through enzymatic processes, making composition key factor influenced by diet. modulate prebiotic antimicrobial effects, affecting production microbial metabolites short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) butyrate, play role brain function health. microbiome also modulates immune system, is critical preventing neuroinflammation. Additionally, benefit mental psychological influencing signaling pathways cells increasing tyrosine tryptophan, precursors neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, adrenaline, gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). flavonoid-gut axis complex multifaceted relationship that has significant implications neurological This review will explore genetic environmental factors flavonoid positive on network.

The primary active compound in vine tea is dihydromyricetin (DMY), which has a longstanding history as dietary supplement and traditional ethnic medicine. However, the precise molecular mechanism by extract (VDMY) regulates glucolipid metabolic disorder remains unclear. In this study, we first assessed effect of VDMY on various physiological parameters db/db mice, followed RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) to identify key signaling pathways affected liver tissues. We also examined impact liver's TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB FOXO1 using Western blotting. Our results showed that significantly reduced fasting blood glucose (FBG), total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TGs), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), while increasing high-density (HDL-C) levels. Additionally, enhanced antioxidant capacity upregulating superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione (GSH), lowering malondialdehyde (MDA), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate (AST), thus alleviating damage. RNA-seq analysis further revealed influenced multiple biological processes, including transcription, glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, redox reactions, suggesting its effects may be mediated through pathways. blot effectively downregulated expressions TLR4, MyD88, NF-κB, proteins indicating could target these intervene metabolism dysfunction.

Published: April 2, 2025

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a serious neurological disease with an extremely high disability rate. Most patients show loss of motor and sensory functions below the level injury. Current treatment protocols are based on early surgical decompression pharmacotherapy. However, efficacy these interventions suboptimal. Due to its complex pathophysiological mechanisms difficulty central nervous system (CNS) regeneration, exploring effective therapeutic remains daunting. Flavonoids secondary metabolites unique plants that have attracted attention in recent years for their potential now commonly used inflammation, tumors, other diseases. For SCI, related studies still exploring; some compounds, such as quercetin, fisetin, hesperetin, shown good anti-inflammatory anti-apoptotic properties, which help restore function injured spinal cord. flavonoids exhibit certain disadvantages, including poor solubility, low bioavailability, inability achieve long-term controlled release. Some proposed drug delivery strategies-including nanoparticles, hydrogels, collagen scaffolds-to enhance efficacy. In this paper, we summarize strategies SCI by searching relevant literature propose future research directions provide new ideas multimodal SCI.
