Immunogenic cell death (ICD) has attracted enormous attention over the past decade due to its unique characteristics in cancer and role activating innate adaptive immune responses against tumours. Many efforts have been dedicated screening, identifying discovering ICD inducers, resulting validation of several based on metal complexes. In this review, we provide a comprehensive summary current metal-based their molecular mechanisms for triggering initiation subsequent protective antitumour responses, along with considerations validating both vitro vivo. Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are key contributors to tumor resistance, recurrence, and metastasis.
