ABSTRACT In traditional Chinese medicine research, seaweeds used for drug and health food development mainly refer to Sargassum pallidum (Turn.) C. Ag. (SP) fusiforme (Harv.) Setch. (SF). the Pharmacopoeia, polysaccharides are main quality control indicators. The total sugar content is determined by anthrone–sulfuric acid method evaluate of seaweeds. However, this cannot reflect structural characteristics seaweed distinguish among different varieties. Given this, comprehensively seaweeds, study conducted a thorough analysis primary structure in 11 batches SF 7 SP. neutral was colorimetric method, weight average molecular ( M w) high‐performance size exclusion chromatography coupled with multi‐angle laser light scattering refractive index detector sulfate ion monosaccharide composition ultrahigh‐performance liquid while also using professional software statistical similarity analysis. results showed significant differences p < 0.05) w between S. polysaccharides, which can be fingerprint analyzed chemometric methods, it found that fucose glucose could serve as differential markers This further deepens understanding more evaluates
