Convection-permitting models (CPMs) are receiving growing scientific interest for their capability to accurately simulate extreme weather events at a kilometer-scale spatial resolution, offering valuable information local climate change adaptation. This study employs both qualitative and quantitative bibliometric analysis techniques examine research trends in CPM, utilizing data from 3508 articles published between 2000 2023. The annual number of publications exhibits linear increase, rising fewer than 50 over 250 after 2020, with the majority originating US, China, UK, Germany. most productive institutes include National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Center Research (NCAR) each contributing 10% total publications. Title abstract terms related keywords such as “scenario”, “climate simulation”, etc., dominate 2018 2023, coinciding advances computing power. Notably, associated CPM physical processes received highest citations underscoring importance these topics. Given computational expense running CPMs increasing demand future predictions using CPMs, novel methods generating long-term simulations imperative.

The growing urgency of the climate crisis necessitates innovative educational approaches to equip people with knowledge and skills address challenges be able influence policy effectively. Education can a central asset promoting action, yet importance change education has been underexposed in large influential assessment reports such as those from IPCC. This study provides comprehensive mapping literature on particular focus time period 2008-2023. By combining human coding natural language processing (NLP) techniques, we examined diverse corpus over 6’000 publications peer reviewed literature. findings highlight pivotal role across various disciplines its alignment critical research themes adaptation, mitigation, disaster risk management, sustainability. Our analysis reveals three predominant topics within which are related effective learning methodologies, sustainable development education, adaptation resilience. Additionally, identified emerging emphasizing youth agents, necessity transformative practices energy literacy. Through geoparsing, it was possible infer country mentions case studies. These appeared largely skewed towards English speaking countries United States Kingdom, underpinning diversifying funding fostering an open data culture. insights gained this scoping review underscore potential not only enhance but also drive community engagement initiatives, thus contributing broader action efforts. In essence, suggests for cultivating active informed society capable addressing pressing posed by change. Importantly, calls integration into policy-relevant reports.

Abstract With new cycles of global environmental assessments (GEAs) recently starting, including GEO-7 and IPCC AR7, there is increasing need for artificial intelligence (AI) to support in synthesising the rapidly growing body evidence authors users these assessments. In this article, we explore recent advances AI connect them different stages GEAs showing how some processes can be automatised streamlined. The meticulous labour-intensive nature serves as both a valuable strength challenge staying pertinent current today’s era urgency pursuit latest knowledge. Utilising tools reviewing synthesizing scientific literature holds evident promise substantially lessening workload experts expediting assessment process. This, turn, could lead more frequent report releases smoother integration advancements into actionable measures. However, successful outcomes only achieved if domain co-develop oversee deployment such together with researchers. Otherwise, run risk producing inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information significant consequences. We demonstrate through few examples that compare deployed large language models (LLMs) based their performance capturing nuanced concepts context reports Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). recommend establishing ethical committees organising dedicated expert meetings develop best practice guidelines, ensuring responsible transparent GEAs.

This scientific article outlines the Artificial Intelligence Integrated Energy Education Framework (AI-IEEF), a transformative model designed to revolutionize energy education and management practices. The framework is organized into five distinct layers: Organizational (AI-enhanced administration systems), Financial (dynamic AI financial models), Technology (advanced simulation modeling), Methodology (AI in curriculum development personalized learning), Social for community engagement impact). An expert panel used fuzzy Delphi method achieve consensus on twenty key factors within these layers, establishing solid foundation analysis. Following this, Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was employed calculate precise weights each layer their respective factors, providing quantitative assessment of relative importance. These weight calculations are crucial, as they guide resource allocation strategic decision-making ensure optimized evolving needs management. Furthermore, introduces tailored variants AI-IEEF, addressing specific aspects offering comprehensive approach navigating challenges field. include Smart Campus Education, Global Policy Analysis, Renewable Research Development, Workforce Community Engagement Outreach variants. Each provides education, from transforming campuses living labs hands-on learning fostering international collaborations that explore global implications policy. emphasize practical skills, policy analysis, community-focused solutions, ensuring students well-prepared contribute effectively sector.

Abstract Intermittently open/closed estuaries provide important ecosystem services but are often overlooked in coastal–catchment research and management. These highly vulnerable to human/climate disturbances due their tendency close off from the ocean, yet processes/dynamics remain under-researched. This study maps global distribution of at least 2,245 intermittent estuaries, whose catchments currently support 55 million people, with projections rising 101 by 2100. Assessing three decades scholarly articles indicated that only 7% these sites have been studied. Academic literature on accounted for 0.5% total all despite systems representing 4–5% estimated number estuaries. Significant gaps exist Asia, South America, Africa, where largest, most susceptible populations reside. 90% existing is conducted (southern) Africa (42%), Oceania (35%), North America (14%), predominantly through domestic efforts. From 1992 2023, 60% focused physio-chemical eco-hydro-geomorphological topics, minimal attention services, climatic/human disturbances, Our assessment underscores need increased focus suggests strategies promote international collaborations, including leadership intergovernmental organisations.
